A ton of places to stay on the I 75 corridor between piqua and cincinnatti and as for something to do on sunday, we always go to the Indianna USAC sprint speedweek show at Lawrencebug, right off the beltway on the sw side of Cincy on sun night. As for Eldora been goin there for 50 yrs and have sat everywhere at one time or another and we always keep goin back to somewhere between the flagstand and turn 1. Decent view of the whole track and the party animals are not quite so hard core.  Nothin against that crowd but I think you said you were bringin the kids along.  KIds probably enjoy the postrace stuff a little more too from the front stretch. Great place to take in a race though. Enjoy!!!

FYI, the Lawrenceburg Sprintweek race is July 12th, the Sunday before the Kings Royal. The KR was moved back a week this year.

Have fun.

Sarge,

I have been to every Kings Royal race, I have camped, stayed in motels, seen all the attractions (not many) in the immediate area.  You did not specifically ask for this but here goes anyway

The only 3 must see races for me anymore are the Brad Doty on Wed. and the Kings Royal weekend.

Limaland: No other classes of cars just World of Outlaws, GO in the pits, for $40 you get a reserved seat in the pits, better views IMO and up close to the drivers and crews. This is a highbanked 1/4 mile that screams sprint car action. Its a week nite and the show is usally over around 10-10:30. As stated earlier you can take a bus from Eldora. If you do end up camping and go to Limaland with your camper plan on spending the nite as there is only one way out of the place.

Kings Royal weekend:  World of Outlaw sprint cars and 360 sprint cars only.  GO in the pits and stand in turns 3 and 4 during hotlaps, an expierience you will not soon forget.  Try getting a ride in a push truck, find one with only the driver and they  will usually accomadate you.  After your 35 MPH BUMPY ride you will be amazed that the sprint cars travel in excess of 135 mph on the same surface.

Caution: If you go to the pits as suggested, be aware of your surroundings at all times, I have seen many near misses that could ruin a weekend.

Plan on spending all day Friday and Saturday at the track, there are many things going on to keep you entertained that a 1st timer might be interested in.

Fridays crowd is big, but not nearly as big as Saturday nite. Use Friday to scope out concession and pit stop areas as the lines will be much longer on Saturday nite.

Hopefully the weather cooperates for you, so you can enjoy the best sprint car event besides the Knoxville Nationals.

Making the trip over from Australia for the first time since Jason Sides got it done in the tire blowing 04 Royal. Got a RV booked for the whole week and also including the following weeks Truck race. Camping spot booked in the Northside lot. Do many camp at Lima? Is there an area to camp there? Or most people just head through to Eldora?

If you are in town the Sunday before, make the trip to Lawrenceburg for USAC race.

Had looked at that race but having a cook out with friends in Findlay on the Sunday night. Thinking will head to Waynesfeild for the BOSS show on the Saturday. Also heading to Kokomo for the Bob Darland Memeriol race after the Brickyard 400 at Indy for more non wing racing.

You can camp at Limaland after the race, although we have no hook ups, and I HIGHLY recommend getting there early to get a good spot!  Another option is you can set up camp at Eldora and ride one of the 3 buses supplied by St Henry Night Club that will take you from Eldora to Limaland and back. The buses fill up fast though and it is first come first served to get on board, but then you don't have to worry about parking or finding your way through the beautiful Ohio country side to get from track to track! : )

I believe last year the first bus left Eldora around 3pm with the 2nd 2 leaving at around 4pm.

If you have any other questions, or want to keep up with updates, you can follow me on twitter at @braddoty18.

Thanks for coming to our event and introduce yourself to me when you get Limaland!

After 23 years of working 325-340 days per year, I was fortunate to take a job opportunity last year that will now give me the summers off!  Because of this, I am planning on hitting some races this year.  I would like to package up Saturday night of the King's Royal and a Cubs/Reds game in Cincy on Monday after the race.

I have never been to the Royal before, so I could use a little advice/help

1.  Where is the closest that I could find a room for the one night?  If possible I would like to stay heading towards Cincy but it isn't absolutely necessary.

2. If I decided to rent a motorhome, is their on track camping available to just pull into?  Or are there limited spots sold out in advance?  Power?  Water?

3.  As said before, heading to Cincy for Monday night Cubs game.  Any suggestions for area attraction for Sunday?  Will likely have my wife and two pre-teen kids with me.

4.  Seats--general admission?  Take lawn chairs?  Reserved seats.

I could have looked all of this info up on their site--people on this site know their events pretty well and I think I will come out better asking here 1st.  I'm always happy to give out advice for those hitting the Nationals in Knoxville for the 1st time.

thanks in advance!

Thanks Brad, Looking forward to your race. Was lucky enough to be a part of a team that won your race back at Attica many years ago.

Will be sure to catch you at Limaland

I would check out the "Wagon Wheel" in Burketsville, Ohio after a night at the races!

If anybody but Kinser or Schatz wins...I am a happy

outlaw fan!
