Ahhh, the truth comes out. . . Duane was huffing the refrigerant out of his air conditioner. Be careful, Duane. The R410A refrigerant in the new units (that I'm selling like mad to all the crazy libs who care about the earth) runs at a much higher pressure and can kill you instantly, unlike R22, which will provide a little bit of a buzz before it kills off the brain cells.

killing off brain cells is the only thing sustaining liberalism.

careful what you wish for...

It's okay, Duane. Sometimes when I'm bored, I eat bananas with my feet too. It's totally normal.

Anybody who counters the global warming argument with "it's cold here" is simply proving he or she knows nothing about what global warming entails.

Actually, I prefer to counter it with the evidence and opinions of about half of the scientific community. Once there is a concesus within the global society of scientists that this is indeed a problem and not just some naturally-occuring phenomena that has been a recurring theme since the beginning of time (which many seem to believe), I will buy into it.

Maybe we're just a blip on mother earth's radar and not quite as self-important and influentual to her survival as we'd like to think we are.

I'd have to say I concur with Hawker... sonoranrat does suck! laughing

BRR, the current administration has bamboozled the American public on a wide variety of serious issues facing our country in upcoming decades...global warming is the least of their transgressions. Let's just pray some of the damage caused is eventually reversible.

No one really seems to know the consequences of global warming. It makes sense to me that the more we "insulate" the atmosphere with greenhouse gases, temperatures should rise globally. Most articles seem to say possibly by around five degrees by 2100. It also makes some sense that the insulation effect might also balance temperatures a little bit more regardless of latitude...Harsh northern regions might end up being a little more livable, and longer growing seasons and more water vapor in the air should also be a little more conducive for agriculture. I myself don't really buy into the whole "Day After Tomorrow" theory, however. It seems to me ice ages had to be caused by very long term orbital or tectonic events, a change in ocean currents by themselves causing such havoc seems a little far-fetched to me. Much of the world's population living near sea level seems to be the real travesty we will face with global warming as glaciers continue to melt off. Changing weather patterns will also be costly. One thing's also for sure, mother nature always seems to take care of herself one way or another!

i watched some of the hearing rebroadcast on CSPAN...the "consensus scientists" got their asses handed to themselves. foaming at the mouth with a clear agenda and no solid fact to back them up...the red faces when presented with the other side really upset the ole hag senator from californication...hilarious!

global warming will remain fiction as long as liberalism attempts to protect their cottage industry of selective outrage based on selective "consensus science".

this year, i drove about 900 miles LESS than i did in 2006...how much do you cut back to do "your part" to help the cause? surely you care enough to keep track.

or is this all about complaining rather than moderating your own personal contribution to the "consensus science" problem?

the planet remains warmest over liberal population centers...would it not be a good start to ask liberals to shut their traps to cut back some of the hot air if they really want to help out?

Food for thought?

Interesting debate?

At the VERY least, it's worth keeping an open mind about.

my feelings are injured . . .presume i will delay returning to the mainland another month to recuperate

to fully comprehend the impact of global warming one need only to investigate the research and findings regarding the atmospheric and surface conditions of the second planet from the sun, the third planet (us) and the fourth planet. ironically, the fourth planet may have reflected our past and the second planet our future.

Since Susky is dumping the 410s I won't be going there as much... does that count as cutting back BRR...lol?

Right now there are approximately 6.5 billion people on Earth... 114 for every square mile of land. Seems stretching things a little thin to me, especially considering the population is projected to reach 9 billion by 2050. With the United States population at only 300 million, or only 4.5% of the world, and yet using 25% of the world's oil and 24% of the world's electricity, I think we can all do our part...lol. Not just the ultra-conservatives like you BRR with the ultra big hearts...lol. It seems to me our pollution has to be affecting the atmosphere and it will only continue to get worse as population grows, especially with the rest of the world striving to match our standard of living. At a minimum, at least coming to the table on the Kyoto Treaty would be a start. We look like a bunch of tools, starting from the top down. We need to be worried about protecting our business interests from China and abroad through other means than by simply refusing to address environmental issues because they won't. Two wrongs have never made a right. What ridiculousness.

plenty of space here for me...talk to the people in those failed liberal enclaves...that is WHERE your pollution problems are...human and waste wise.

enforcing the extremist globa lwarming agenda will send more jobs out of the country...too bad you can't get the ear of the largest communist gov't on earth to listen to the cockeyed communist scheme you are pushing here. you rail agains thte XXX chasis, but then push the same agenda that helped start the migration to begin with.

back to my question, i care about the environment...i just do not put it ahead of the people of this country...you claim to care more...so when are you having your power shut off?

your actions will match your words when your side suggests day races in order to save electric power and the "environment"!

I dislike political discussions on this board, and this is definitely political, IMO. But the advocates of

Human Caused Global Warming seem to have little valid science to back their cause.

From the U.S. Senate Committee on Enviornment & Public Works PR of 10/17/06:

"Renowned Scientist (Claude Allegre) Defects From Belief in Global Warming – Caps Year of Vindication for Skeptics"

"60 Scientists Debunk Global Warming Fears" etal

http://epw.senate.gov/pressitem.cfm?party=rep&id=264777

BTW, a number of Alaskan glaciers are advancing, not receding. And, "Allegre also pointed out that studies show that Antarctic snowfall rate has been stable over the past 30 years and the continent is actually gaining ice."

More food for thought...
