Sammy broke a U joint and that could happen to anyone.  He looked real fast in B main till U Joint broke.  They should outlaw the extra lite rear axels.  I assume Clausen had one that broke.  You can crash yourself, but what if it happens with other cars on track?  Knoxville is Knoxville.  People think that if their driver does not win everything should be changed.  I think it is OK as is as the week after week fastest cars are at the top in points.

My personal opinion, nothing wrong with the invert of 8 (it's better than when they drew and there was (1) 6 pill, (1) 8 pill, (2) 10 pills and (2) 12 pills.  The odds were great that it would always be 8 or worse and you'd have to be Steve Kinser or Doug Wolfgang in the 1980's to win from there these days.

Now, back then the car count also wasn't as good as this year and they inverted 6 and took 6 to the feature (so you didn't have to pass a single car to qualify for the main on a weekly show -- isn't that the same thing everyone bit#hes and complains about when the Outlaws race that they never have to pass anyone??).

Did some fast drivers not qualify through their heats the past couple of weeks?  Yep, but it's because they weren't FAST in their heats, most maintained position, but some LOST positions, so inverting 4 may not have made a difference, they still may not have qualified for the main through the heat.

As a FAN, the inverts are great (and the competitors all know that there is an invert before they pull in the gate) and create great racing (especially on a slick track).  Most competitors probably hate them.

Now, anyone that wasn't watching Brown (was 2nd in Points going into the feature) and Madsen (now 2nd in points) going back and forth and racing hard for 17 laps (until (in my opinion) Madsen squeezed Brown into the berm while they were running side x side) must not like racing.  It didn't matter that Madsen started on the front row and Brown started in the 4th row, they were 2 of the best 3-4 cars during the feature (IMO Lasoski was by far the fastest car until the last red flag flew)).

Agree.

interestng that people who obviously weren't there weigh in on the quality of racing and what the format should be.

With the cars that show up to Knoxville on a weekly basis plus the cars there that night it could of been any of the outlaw cars in the B main.

agreed, doesn't matter who you are when you show up to a weekly show @ Knoxville, you have to work hard to make the main (how many cars to the Outlaws have to pass any night if they qualify in the top 10 in TT to qualify for the main?   NONE).

No doubt about it, Sammy sucks for being in the "B". So does McCarl, Lasoski, Areu, Bacon and Tatnell. Bunch of washed up hacks and bums, all of them! End sarcasm.

There is a HUGE difference between "not getting out of the B main" and equipment failure.

By your logic, Jimmie Johnson is "washed up" because he finished in the 40's a couple times this year....

He was running 2nd and racing for the lead in teh "B" main when he lost a U-joint.

Had he been running 10th and out of a transfer, I'd agree that he couldn't even "make the main at a weekly show".

As I recall, the BEST driver in the world the past 7-8 years (Schatz) didn't make it out of the B-main during a weekly show just 3-4 years ago @ Knoxville (and TONS of drivers won't make it out of the B-main this weekend @ Knoxville during teh Cappi Classic (which is a "weekly show").

Are you going to come here and put down Kinser, Schatz or anyone else on Sunday Night if they miss the "weekly show"?  doubtful....

I never said an equipment failure caused him to miss the transfer in the heat.  I said equipment failure kept him from transferring to the main (cars transfer out of the B-main EVERY WEEK).  and almost always a good car or two that you don't expect to the in the B-main.

As far as "class" goes.  It appears that you have none as you constantly try to put down someone instead of taking the "high road" you make sure to "pound your chest" when someone doesn't make a feature.  That's some "class".....

Vande, clowns like this guy aren't worth the time.  So they don't like a driver, big deal I'm guessing this guys resume is far superior to Sammy's, hence the attitude, lolo....

Sammy timed in 4th out of 37 drivers. This put him starting 6th in the 4th heat. He finished 6th. That is could to happen to any sprint car driver, not just Sammy.

Especially if it was an early heat race. Track is still sticky and cars are glued to the ground running Wide Open. Seems to me a lot of Sammy races start out a little conservative after lap #1 (lap #1 is a free-for all for everyone) up until about lap 3 or 4 then it seems like he really gets to moving in the heats!

The drivers in Sammy's heat included Davey Heskin, Craig Dollansky, Rico Abreu, and Dusty Zomer. Even a derelict like

yourself should realize this is a tough heat. Saturday's B-Main also included Terry McCarl, Danny Lasoski, Brooke Tatnell,

Jac Haudenschild, Rico Abreu, and Brady Bacon.

DID EVERYONE MISS THE FACT THAT.... IAN WON ....AND DID A GREAT JOB...?????

Sat.B main had more talent than most A mains anywhere including posse.Knoxville has the most weekly talent anywhere[not far of WOO]  and I am hoping 6 make it to the A at Nationals.Computer talk is just that and if I had a good car and Sammy would drive it would be an honor.People buy tickets to cheer or boo but once the race over just chill out and have fun. They drivers  like Sammy are what the promoters love due to their desire to win and some of their actions when they dont

This forum is available because of the accomplishments of Kinser and Swindell! Be thankfull for the attention brought to this sport because of these two gentlemen, they just race and thats what they do. When they began to put their lives on the line to provide the fans thrill, and enjoyment,no one gave a crap. Now they are asses because they dont want a photo op! It"s there job, they may be old, washed up, but they are still driving, and you are sitting on your behinds, with your cooler between your legs, bitchin! Enjoy, because it may not happen again.

Do not be a ding dong.  Go to Knoxville race Results and look at the B-Main line up.  McCarl, Sammy, Haud, Abarue and Danny L. and others.  With the heat invert and track and fact with invert some really fast cars got to start ahead of them in heat that might explain it.
