I believe he is referring to the yellow 10. The Luna 10 is defanantly Bobby Davis JR., he won the title that year when all the big boys went with USA ( United Sprint Assosiation).

No clue who the yellow 10 is

Nice. I remember those wooden sprintcar frames. I know many of you out there still have them with vintage photos in them. Please post them on here for all of us to enjoy.

Thank you everyone for the quick responses.

Makes sense that it was at Hanford as that was our home track for many years.

Can you read the info on the hood and wing of the 10 car? Did Blaney have a yellow #10 before Vivarin sponsorship ?

The yellow #10 was definitely not Dave Blaney in 1989.  I believe Dave was driving Verlin Chupp's #7C Mica Shop car that year.

I had a sweet Chris Eash t-shirt from 1989 that I picked up at Millstream Speedway. It had lots of neon, and the back was cool.;) E&G Classics.

Joe Gaerte & the 7TW team picked up House of Windsor cigars sponsorship during 1989, or could've been 90.

Yeah, I was definitely talking about the yellow 10.  Darrell Gowens was the rookie of the year at Hanford that year.  I have no idea what number he ran.  That looks very much like a local car.  Throwing something against the wall here.  Going to have to throw the 1990 Wheelies Flips and Foto Finishes in to see some Hanford coverage. - Ron

Texted Bobby Gerould, and he threw out Paul Durant as a possibility without seeing the picture for the yellow 10 car.

Winningham in the Alviso Rock 9n is a no-brainer and the Al Leist #88 had Donnie Evans, JT Hayes and it looks like Lee James for a time in the 88.  It's definitely Oklahoma Andy, and BK in the 69.  Darrell Hanestad in the 17 won the Gold Cup later this year.  This would have been one of Paul McMahan's first years behind the wheel in a sprint car and Cris Eash is definitely the 17E...which leaves that damn 10 car.  I got nothing.

if this is hanford, did anthoney simone drive a yellow car?

Negative. I can confirm that Simone was racing that year and it was (as always) the black 10.

I was 23 and me and a buddy flew from Ohio to AZ to watch the Outlaws at Firebird that year, then flew to watch Ascot next weekend. Man what a Good time and I still have the Ascot Tshirt framed and hanging in my man cave! That Jeff Swindell ride was sweet...Wolfie took it over in 90 I believe...good memories!

I was right there with you, but the graphics have pretty much always been the same for Simone since I can remember.  For what it's worth, I can make out Century 21 on the hood.

For what its worth I copied-saved the picture. Used my windows picture viewer and blew up the picture on the hood the first lettering the word starts with an A. But on the back of the hood is CM or GM. The 21" what ever the syimbol is looks like a sticker for a driver or car owner as it is over the word that starts with the A. The word with the A is in cursive writing.

Could this be the Gene Manhire 1T car? What number did the Trigueiro Bothers run under?

Forgot about this thread and it got buried.  That yellow 10 isn't showing up in those results posted earlier by 98A.  98A where did you get those results anyway?  I've often come across some races I couldn't remember details of and having full results like that would be awesome to have at your fingertips.

The Triguero Brothers car was a combo of red, silver and black.

Think I found our mystery #10:

Hosted on Fotki

This is from Racing Wheels newspaper.  Never heard of him before I found the picture.

Unless they chnged the hood and paint scheme it is a different car. When I blew up the photo and looked.

Was there a car there that blew an engine before qualifing? It does look alot like hot laps.

Dwane Larson was a San Jose regular. He is not the yellow #10 in question. His car was never completly yellow, it was

sponsored by OSH and was white, yellow & blue.
