They have very seldonmly raced head to head over the years, so there may not be a ton of races to find. Curious are you looking at only dirt races they competed in against one another or are you also comparing to NNW races as well?

in 2013 NNW races they have raced 5 times in the same race with Larson finishing ahead of Swindell 3 times and Swindell ahead of Larson 2 times.

Larson hasnt even won a Busch race.  He had one big night at Eldora.  One WoO win.  What a legend!!!

He has had a couple of very good showings in "Busch racing".  Ran down Rowdy and lost by a foot at Bristol.   Had a truck win and was very impressive in the truck at Eldora.  If I remember correctly he had an amazing speedweeks in Daytona leading up to the "Busch series" race.  Last years wins?  Where do you want to start?  He WILL compete in Sprint cup quicker than Logano did--JMO.   Not even close comparing him to Bulldog--like someone said earlier--unless you count an indoor midget race with no rules.

(that being said--was very impressed with the speed out of Kevin at the 410 Nationals--he was pretty fast whenever he was on the track)

Larson is the more talented of the two. Bulldog is more talented than most.  Definitely more talented than the Swindell haters give him credit for.

It's a tough question to compare those two.

You're talking a rare talent vs. a phenomenal talent.

IMHO Larson is better but Swindell is far from average or above average... he's big time.  Put him in the cars that Larson has driven & I think he'd do an admirable job.  Same results as Larson?  I don't think so.  Larson is special... something we don't see often.  He's more versatile in more different cars than anyone I can think of... he's run more different types of cars than even Smoke.  He wins in them all.

Edge Larson with no disrespect to Kevin... who is one of my favorites & has a bright future.

The amount of seat time really seems to skew the conversation.  It seems that Larson raced more in one weekend than Swindell did in an entire month.

There definetly is something going on with the rides Kevin gets.  It is either he is very, very, very particular for who he drives.  He is difficult to get along with, or his inner circle is hard to get along with.

Kevin actually tweeted about this earlier in the year.  The tweet said something like "how is it that I  can win the chilli bowl, but i can't get a midget ride in the summer"

You can throw out pavement stats. Neither have enough track time to compare them to the asphalt greats.  Both are very talented. Kevin was the youngest driver to win a WoO race and has done very well through out his career even if you dont count the chili bowl. If you dont rank Kyle as the top one or two drivers on dirt you have no clue. Compare his accomplishments to any driver in history under 21 or maybe even 30 that has the amout of wins and finishes Kyle has in multiple cars and divisions. Not sure you can compare Kyle to anyone at this point, and this is from a Swindell fan.

Legalized Marijuana!  The fact is Bulldog is very good and I am a fan, He's definately the King of Tulsa. Larson on the other hand seems to be taking the racing world by storm and it does not matter what he is driving he is pretty damn impressive. Is it short lived?? Maybe! If not then watch out because this "Kid" is going to be awesome.

While I agree you can't compare them yet with the all time greats on pavement, you can use pavement to compare the two.  Kevin has finished better in some races that they have raced together in--however, Kevin has not sniffed the front of the pack in any of those races while Kyle has.  As of today-- a K & N championship, 1 truck win in only a handfull of starts and 3 runner up finishes in his season debut in Nationwide.  Kevin is not even on the same planet as those stats.  I think you can give him the pavement check mark.

I'm with you on the rest of what you said--but I think the pavement record--while still a small sample size--has a lot to tell right now.

I agree with this statement. I would love to see Kevin get more opportunities in good quality equipment. I believe he would impress a lot of people. Not sure why he doesnt get those opportunities.

it really dosent matter ,were losing them both to nascar.. and the bad reality to it is nascar is only about money and as long as your making money for them you will stay there.. dont have to win just show up and smile sell tickets and you will retire a rich man ..what a shame for racing.. thats what i fear for larson being on a team that really could care less about winning just make us and target some more cash,, hurry kid make a name and run your own cup team and sprints.. then you will truly be the best aks tony and see how its done..just my opion though
