Thank you Buzz.  I was not going to sit around and do the figures as you have.  I just knew that what he was spewing had to be inaccurate.

not a lot of figuring to do if a mathematical idiot such as myself can figure it out!

simple figures really. they basically run themselves.

100k  Whoops no average attendance at Nascar this year has been 67k, I do know that NAPA sells a ton of parts to repair shops that is 65% of their business and yes they use Napcar as an incentive to those shops within that market but what about the stores not in that market?  Uggh in WA, Oregon, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota and so on.  If the market was so lucrative as you suggest why isnt Auto Zone or Advance in Napcar?  Truth is because they dont want to wast $40mm to play the game.  I did not one time suggest that Sprint Car racing would bring them more exposure I said it will bring them measurable results.

You also totally neglected my point about Lucas.  Why are they not there?  Forest can buy and sell MWR and never put a car on the track, do you know what he spent on the Naming rights for the stadium in Indianapolis?  NAPA could better spend their money as AutoZone does at College Foootball or NFL which exceeds Nascar handily.  How many thousands of race teams race locally that Napa could reach through Dirt Track Racing.  Napcar is losing appeal fast, FOX stepped up because they want to own that market segment, ESPN wants out, they want their airtime for college and NFL real money makers.  NBC is also looking to drop out,,, You think Lucas doesnt sell 0ver 100 MM through dominating the Dirt Tract Market?  NAPA could easily do the same thing and not just in Sprints, A portion of 18mm goes along way the rest on College and NFL wanna bet that is a better return?

Also did you know that 35% of the audience at a NASCAR event are the same people that attended a Nascar Race in a different Market?  Oh and when they race 2 x in a market how many different people are there?  Also the TV audience is the same week in week out, so before you spew they are reaching different fans there is major duplication.  Think the fan in Medford OR went to the race in Hanford, CA?  Doubtful.  So again examine your facts, yes there is duplication in Sprint Car racing but not to the extreme of Napcar.

Yes the rule in marketing is the more impressions to the same person results in a sale, rule of thumb 11x ,,,  So yes week in and week out at a local track same fans same principal.  So if you look at Dirt Car Racing as a whole on any given Friday or Saturday night think there are more fans than at a Napcar Race?  412 tracks ,,, hmmmm I think the answer to that is obvious.

nascar doesn't provide crowd estimates anymore, but here are the most current available.

http://www.statisticbrain.com/nascar-racing-statistics/

even if you take half of those attendance numbers, there is no national sprint car series that can match them.

as far as the audience transgressing to multiple events during the season, so do sprint car audiences.

you also seem to discount the TV and radio markets for nascar that sprint car racing has zero of.

plus the PR and marketing that nascar teams do for their sponsors that sprint car racing can't compete with.

if napa or any other national business that was trying to reach multi-millions of fans/customers thought sprint car racing would offer them a better opportunity, you can bet they would be there.

if sprint car racing offers such great demographics, then why are some of the best and most well known national sprint car teams hunting for sponsors?

why can't the woo seem to get a great national sponsor.

why is it the nascar related sprint car teams are the only ones who can seem to get national sponsorship?

you wanna start talking about lucas and nfl and sponsoring stadiums, but the conversation is sponsoring nascar vs sprint cars.

i can tell you have lost the debate when you have to try to change the topic to other national sponsorships.

your orignal comment was napa could get a better return on sponsoring a sprint car team than a nascar team, not that napa could get a better return on advertizing in nfl or naming a stadium.

but i can't blame you for trying to back track and change your tune once the facts are laid out.

just what national sponsors have you landed for sprint car teams lately?

maybe you should be out talking to napa instead of slumming around in here.
