This board is going to hell in a hand basket.
Looks to me like Dillon is doing pretty well for himself. Won a Truck championship and is leading the Nationwide points. He's also been successful on dirt, which I'm sure Tony likes. He seems like a pretty logical choice to me. What did you want him to do, put Steve Kinser in the car as a way to make up for calling him an asshole at the Royal? Or maybe Blaney because he's a fellow dirt guy and just needs a chance to show what he can do in top shelf equipment.
It's one thing to dislike someone because you don't like his personality or driving style. It's another to say that he's only been successful because Childress is his grandfather. He still has to turn the wheel. He still has to impress sponsors. He hasn't failed at that yet. He's going to be a good one for a long time to come.

I was kind of thinking the same thing!
But I can't imagine Toyota letting him drive a Chevy for even one race!

Larson drives for Turner Scott in Nationwide, which are Chevy's, and his development contract is with Ganassi, which fields Chevy's. He should be good to go. Does anyone know Larson's sprint car schedule for this weekend? Nationwide and Cup aren't at the same track this weekend (Mid-Ohio and Michigan), if Larson already has plans it could be why he's not driving. If Tony was going to put him in the 14 for any race, I'd think it would be Bristol....remember the spring Nationwide race?
As for Dillon being a spoiled rich kid? I understand the theory, but he's done enough on dirt and in Nascar to convince me he's got some pretty legit talent too. Sure he has great equipment, but he's not the only one and he does make it pay off. I'd say Dillon is the better choice for Michigan, and he's already worked with half of Tony's sponsors in the past so that may have played a role.
