I know some who are questioning the validity of the ALLSTARS as a legitimate racing group.  This only puts more fuel on the fire.  A disgrace for them as a sanctioning body to say the least.

Allstars only have a few full times cars, knowing this the promoter should have been on the phone offer up some tow money or something to get more cars in there

this is sad, i'm not really sure how a show that had 24ish cars from the previous year can drop to only 8 this year,

line up from last year: 1. 59-Jac Haudenschild, 11.720; 2. 45-Paul McMahan, 11.909; 3. 54-Cap Henry, 12.000; 4. 13G-Cody Hahn, 12.067; 5. 2-Dale Blaney, 12.069; 6. 13-Mark Dobmeier, 12.076; 7. 33-Danny Lasoski, 12.104; 8. 56-Davey Heskin, 12.122; 9. 8-Casey Mack, 12.189; 10. 89G-David Gravel, 12.223; 11. 83-Tim Shaffer, 12.225; 12. 24-Terry McCarl, 12.283; 13. 17-Marty Perovich, 12.423; 14. 1AU-Brooke Tatnell, 12.443; 15. 92-Mitch Mack, 12.485; 16. 17A-Austin McCarl, 12.532; 17. 35AU-Jamie Veal, 12.580; 18. 15-Donny Schatz, 12.583
19. 25-Cory Mack, 12.590; 20. 81-Austin Johnson, 12.594; 21. 40-Caleb Helms, 12.662; 22. 9-Jared Goerges, 12.693; 23. 19-Lee Grosz, 12.736; 24. 5-Dave Glennon, 12.766

(took everyone who qualified)

ok so we knew mcmahan, gravel, austin mccarl, schatz, and tatnell wouldn't make it, so down 5 cars to make a potential 19 car field, now for the 360 sprints who didn't return goerges, grosz, hahn, so down to 16 car field, personally i'm surprised that none of the macks showed up along with dobbmeier and heskin= 11 car field ok what's left? not a whole lot, doubt you will see all stars back at hibbing after tonight

Embarrassing.  They set out  on a "Thunder Through the Plains" tour and leave New York  They show up at Wilmot with a pathetic 7 cars, had 3 stragglers and the regular IRA contingent for a real nice 41 car show.  Now this?  bad, just bad.  The race at Wilmot I guess was co-sanctioned, and they ran All Star rules.  I say if you want to run your rules, BRING MORE FRIGGIN CARS..........

You go to places mid week in the middle of no where, no sprints around the area but one from Superior and sounds like they didn't go and what would you expect. Get a map out and figure where you would get cars to come from.

Another black eye for the All Stars. They may want to get rid of this Plains tour as the travel is absurd for the teams and the number of dates has dwindled to the point that it's not worth following for the non-All Star teams.

Was there a payoff problem last year?

If the All Stars want to run a Thunder Through the Plains tour, a novel start would be to stick to only tracks that regularly run 410s or are within a 410 base. They avoid most of the spots where you could get a decent car count throughout Southeast Iowa, mid-Central Illinois and Missouri. It makes no sense.

They hit Husets and some IRA tracks, but why not Knoxville, 34, or any of the MOWA tracks (Jacksonville, Spoon River, etc.)? I'd have to think that promoters are smart enough to realize that it's not worth the sanction fee/purse, etc. for the eight cars they're going to bring. It's unfortunate. I can remember as recently as the 1200 LB Nationals the ASCoC bringing a stout field of cars to Knoxville. I know they had a pretty good show at Spoon River about 10 years ago as well. It's a shame what they've been reduced to.

I think they would have been better off if they canceled the program and Webb gave each team $500  in travel money.  You don't live down something like this in a day or two!

All of these are good and logical points which is probably where the problem is. Good and logical. I go to a lot of the all star shows here in Ohio and they put on a good show and even in PA they get great car counts. I don't get why they do not go to tracks where their is already a strong fan base (Attica, Fremont, Central PA, 34, Knoxville).

But then again as several people have said on here before, if only about 6cars are touring with the circuit then why pay extra money as a promoter in sanctioning fees and purse when you are already drawing a decent amount of cars? The promoter could just easily take whatever the fees are and spread it out throughout the season to the drivers that normally turnout.

The whole problem is that $500 won't pay the fuel bill for very many teams to get to Hibbing.

Knoxville to Hibbing is ~ 470 miles,     Huset't to Hibbing is ~ 450 miles.      Its not cheap to drive a truck down the road.

Someone was wondering how a show that had 24 cars last yr only had 8 this year, my question is how in the heck did they manage to get 24 cars last year?

To me a 24 car field at Hibbing is much more surprising than an 8 car field is.

It's not the ASCoC's job to promise fans a full field of cars. They bring what they have, just like every other race on their schedule. I don't see how this makes them look bad, they had their guys.

I can't 100% confirm this but my suspicion is the All Stars leased the track and promoted the show. They have done that in the past in MN and WI (Superior). Just a bad decision to run a mid-week show with no other cars close by to support it.

Looking forward to the UNOH All Star results on their website.

At this rate, they won't post results until after a few more raes, this way the results will be buried, if ever seeing the light of day.
