If the question is right now, it would have to be TK, Rahmer and Pittman, in that order, based solely on results.

I dont know if they would be considered "best on the planet" but TK, Pauly, and Fred seem to be the most consistent right now....David Gravel seems to have his shit together too. It's turned out to be an interesting 2013 so far.

Like said, TK, Rahmer and Pittman are the top 3 right now in the country. Put Rahmer 3rd because he hasn't ran outside of PA yet.

Almost total split between winged & "traditional" complicates the question. I would say Schatz for wings, Clausen for wingless & Larson all around.
Pittman & Freddy are hot now but look what Schatz did 2nd half of last year....
If Fast Freddy won Nationals I'd howl with laughter & mess my pants....

Lol, Rahmer.
Schatz is the best sprint car driver over the course of many years. Nobody comes close in the last 10 years or so.
If you are asking for right now, I'd say Pittman and Kaeding have been really strong. Under no circumstances can I give a guy who passes up a $10k to win race to race in his backyard for $3k the title of best sprint car driver.

I would have to say a tie between TK and Kyle Larson! Just a little biased
|
+1 but I'd take Kyle then TK.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

I would have to say Kyle Larson, since the question is "Sprint car driver" not WINGED sprint car driver, and he get's it done with or without the wing.

Schatz. Period. It's early in the season people, the moment the races start paying $25, 50, 150K to win, the 15 will be the one to beat.
Outside of that, this year: Tim Kaeding. Pittman's been good, but I really think Kaeding may have been the bigger threat.
In PA, Rahmer. Drove away from everyone but Donny Kreitz all night Friday, and back to 170 win Freddie at Lincoln.

Schatz without a question, but I don't see a lot of non-winged racing. And Shane Stewart could definitely by the most underrated driver, but that speaks no volume when discussing best driver. Kaeding has been tough every single race he's run. And yeah Rahmer has been tough, but let's be honest, he's not running against 15-20 WoO caliber cars every night. I hope he steps up to the plate when the outlaws invade though! That would be quite a show

Expect when in the state of PA.
I don't aim to please.
I aim to hit the target.

Shane Stewart. He wins in everything he drives.
That's not exactly true. He didn't win in the Beefpackers car and he lost the ride.
|
Actually, Shane did win in beef packers car at least once....Woo show at Knoxville April 2007 or 2008.....
Kyle is the best right now hands down......
The older I get, the faster I used to be.

|
This is a impossible task because you are only as good as your last win. Shane Stewart may drive for 5 different owners this year and wins in them all. He looked very very good at Knoxville last week. We should not praise him to much as NASCAR will be calling.

Yeah, that would suck if he got a really nice paying job that few people get a chance to do.
