I'm 62 & got 83%. I still can't tell a 55 Chevy from a 56. Those 50s Mopars were hard to tell apart too, I got half. The extinct off brands were a challenge, but I surprised myself by getting all the hood ornaments right... sometimes lucky beats good!

Telling a '55 from a '56 Chevy. Several subtle differences like grill, taillights, chrome moldings, and paint schemes on the two-tones. The quickest way for me to tell the difference, with just a quick glance, are the rear fender well openings. The '55's have a more squared off, or flat, top part of the opening and almost straight up and down on the front and rear parts of the opening. The '56's have a more rounded opening from the front, over the top, starting down the rear but then sweeping towards the rear of the car. Actually the picture of the '55 in the quiz, the rear wheel wells had been cutout and made round (unless a few were actually produced like that and I didn't realize it.) It threw me for a loop for a few seconds, because I knew the others and also knew that wasn't a typical '55 rear wheel well opening.

These bring back a lot of memories. I got my driver's license on Dec 19, 1957. At that time, in California, you could get your license at 151/2 if you had completed driver's ed and driver's training. Went straight from DMV and bought my first car....a 1949 Studebaker Champion stick (of course) with overdrive. Could drive to schoool, work and home on $3.00 of gas a week. Three dollars equaled six hours of work at the local Mobil on nights and wekends after ball practice. Painted it kelly green with white apolstery. I thought I was the cat's meow! (Kids today would not be caught DEAD in a Studebaker! ha ha) Smile

A 50's Car test... No cheating!

Alright, you whipper-snappers, let's see how you do.

Be honest with yourself. No cheating.

The average score is 73%.

This will really rattle the cobwebs in the 'ol brain

You got 92% (44 right out of 48). The average score is 73%.

I didn't think 73% sounded right for 43 of 48. I actually got 89.58%.

73%. I don't know the old Chryslers at all as both my Dad & Papa both hated them.

I don't know the newer ones now either , come to think of it.
