This. How many fucking more threads will there be about a series that has nothing to do with these forums?

Seems to me that you invest a lot of time bitching about these threads, when you could use that time reading other ones. Get over it.....

I think regardless of her performance she gets paid and has the guts to try anyway ,I think she should stay in Nationwide solidly until she either doesn't sell herself to sponsors or they cut here and she moves along to something else,I would pay to watch 43 Danicas race, not just drive, race. But,her in Cup,Not, not now, maybe never.
|
This is the most valid post anyone has made on here. This is also similar to some comments Kyle Petty made on Wind Tunnel a few weeks ago. Danica has some talent and can definetly drive a racecar. She has not learned to race and there's a big difference. Will I ever see Danica tap someone on the rear bumper and move them up the track and pass them to win a race? I seriously doubt it. I also think she should be in Nationwide at least another year, maybe two. When she can consistently finish in the top five there and maybe get a win or two, then she's ready for Cup. Right now though, she clearly is not. As long as the sponsors are happy she'll be there though.

I heard when 17 years old she won some gocart races against a bunch of 7 and 8 year olds. Must have a little talent. Maybe she can start over in go carts.
Never in history have three race drivers gotten 5 time the exposure they should have gotten: Junior Earnhart for having a famous surname, Danica Patrick for being a 4'10" attractive female, and Lewis Hamilton for being black. Sure Jr won a race this year, Hamilton won a race or two while in one of the 4 top cars that win all the time. Jr is in a great car and of course the shrimp, if any of dozens of other young male drivers from sprint to lower level stock cars would have done much better.

As I suggested now that the season is over let's re-visit this topic. Anyone who thought she would amount to much more than a punchline to a bad joke still feel the same? I still think the dumb c$$t couldn't drive a straight stick up a goat's ass.
|
I'm not a NASCAR or Danica fan, but calling her a "dumb c$$t" is absolutley uncalled for, unfair, & classless. You owe her a public apology. At least she has the guts to drive a NASCAR race, which is mnore than I can say for myself, & probably you too.
Total cheap shot

Sprint cars were always one of the meanest race cars to drive. Tony Stewart still says they are. Now you see lots of teenage girls driving them, one of the traditionally worst driving demographics in America. The other, the senior citizen ranks, seem to be growing as well. Hopefully taking some tire away fixes it a little.
|
Cubicdollars, a teenage girl can be just as mean as a sprint car, in fact they have many similarities….often stubborn and uncontrollable, cost you tons of money, different from day to day for no apparent reason, they can cause you great pain but can also make you very proud.

In her defense she has accomplished more than any other circle track female racer.
She usually does not crash.
Sometimes she needs to be Bitch slapped when whining to another driver about something that happened.
Last but not least, would not have any problem letting her crank on my shifter!!!

Apparently "Go Daddy" thinks she is worth the $$ they are putting forth in her racing endeavors.
I would much prefer seeing a more "capable driver" utilizing these sponsor dollars but they aren't mine to spend. If they were she would be parked in a heart beat and replaced with someone who would bring better results race after race.
Some of you "older" types might remember the "Peter Principle" and I think that is where she is in her NASCAR endeavors.

Anyone with the balls to drive an Inday car at over 200mph at Indy with its narrow track and blind corner going into #1 turn must have some talent. You try it. I think a lady driver must do more to get respect. In the NASCAR talk shows they claim time after time that so and so driver had a good day by finishing 20 th. Also older drivers do not like to see all these younger drivers coming south to race. They make it one more time that a young driver is trying to get thier ride. Any younger driver must show the older drivers that they are not going to take some of that crap.

Danica is back on the market.... lol
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Danica Patrick and her husband are divorcing after seven years of marriage.
Patrick announced the split with Paul Hospenthal on her Facebook page Tuesday.
``I am sad to inform my fans that after seven years, Paul and I have decided amicably end our marriage,' she said. ``This isn't easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that's how we will remain moving forward.'
Hospenthal is a physical therapist who met Patrick while treating her for a non-racing injury. The two were married in 2005, and he is 17 years older than the 30-year-old driver

The idea of "Balls" that I believe that you are referring to is the concept of courage or maybe even confidence in one's self that they can do something. Bravado maybe even. The difference in my opinion is talent which is where the courage (or balls as you say) to do something turns out to be successful or not. Dan Weldon had courage AND talent that was well documented in an Indy car. Danica, while she could easily squeeze her tight little ass into the car, has a well documented lackluster to say the least tenure in an Indy car. Unfortunately both Patrick and Weldon as things have turned out at this juncture in time prove something my mom taught me from a very early age: "life isn't fair". Unfortunately both the talented and talentless can meet an early death in this sometimes cruel sport we all love to argue about.

Well, how about you actually READ a comment before you make accusations about someone "trying it!" I made no comment about Indy car nor any comment about me driving!
Too often people jump on here and comment without reading thoroughly what they respond to.

Did any of you complain about Mike Skinner not having the talent to deserve a cup ride? How many hundred races did he run for Childress, many with McRenolds as his crew chief and he has 0 career cup wins!
If you have been around long enough you may remember some guys who crashed a lot early in their sprint car careers and looked like they would never be any good who developed into great drivers.
I think most who bash Danica just do not like the idea of a woman in a "mans" sport.

I have heard her interviewed many times and i have never heard her brag in any way on her driving.Actually she has been very sensible about her approach for the next race. She has tore up some cars but ...........i didn't say i thought she was a good driver.

Apology..........Um Yeaaaaaahhhhhhh that'll happen. It will happen right around the time she wins a championship in any of the three top NASCAR divisions (truck, Nationwide, or Sprint Cup) which I'm 100 percent certain will be NEVER. I call her what she is.
