I'm sure whoever the new guys are will be considering Mopar power since Joey had been a title contender every year until the very moment they switched to the chevs.
|
If I remember correctly the moment he started using Chevy motors last year after his injury he won 2 in a row with it. What was the last year a Non-Chevy won the WoO Championship? I think blaming the Chevy powerplants for someones 1 not so stellar year is a big-time exaggeration.
To say that the motor is the main reason that he didn't do as well this year is a mis-statement, theres probably over 100 things on that car that need to all be synced just right to have a winner any given night and I would say that this year they just weren't getting them together enough, in that 100's of things that can be tweaked, the motor is not at the top of the list, if your motor is running good you leave it alone but they are constantly making little changes to shocks and bars and tire pressures and compounds. Those are the changes that make someone fast or slow on a given night, as well as the driver and the Crew Chief need to be on the same page as each other on those little changes and from what I've heard that was the biggest problem in the team this year.
I'm not sure why I'm explaining this anyways cause Minthess obviously doesn't get that this motor deal he always makes such a big deal about, really isn't that big of a deal. Give a good motor builder the right amount of money and he'll build you a powerplant that is equal to or better than anyone elses and he'll stick a Ford sticker on the Valve cover at the end if you want him to.

I was wondering the same thing...why no Roush Yates engines in WoO? Are there even any Mopars running in the WoO now?
|
Rumour i heard on the weekend was that Rousch/Yates and Stenhouse were so happy with JJ this year that they will be running WOO in 2013.

This is the racin boys interview with Ricky and towards the end he pretty well spells out that they don't feel their ready to go on the Outlaw tour with the 410 quite yet.

Shoot. Thanks though. ...... 110% because of the WoO's terribly destructive and silly engine rules. There would already be a more than competive Ford ready for WoO for the thousands and thousands of Ford fans that now have no reason to go if the WoO weren't blind as bats. Huge potential revenue for the goobers... they must like being on the verge of bankruptcy year after year with nothing new or different.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Stewart seemed to do pretty good at Knoxville in a 410
|
Not to mention he's won Dirt Cup twice, The Bradway, a WOO race at Knoxville, a Prelim Night win at Knoxville, hasn't finished worse than 7th in the last 4 years at the Knox Nats, has one of the longest streaks going of making the A-main at sprintcar racing's premier yearly event, Ohio All Star Speedweek Champion, 2nd Place twice in the Gumout Series, a couple of Australian National titles.....not to mention the Classic - Australia's equivalent to the Knox Nats.
Dean tends to get caught up in bleacher gossip. And while he is entitled to his opinion......he's also wrong to think Shane Stewart is only a "360" driver.
The greatest knowledge is to know that you know nothing
at all.

I would be very surprised to see Joey's new ride have anything to do with Big Game Treestands, I would say that that was just thrown out there by someone who is a fan of the current Big Game teams. Remember, just cause you say it on a message board doesn't mean its gonna come true. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong. Just sayin.

Everybody seems to forget his march towards the front at the Nationals a couple years ago where he started way back and with finished 2nd. A few more laps and he wouldve passed Schitz!

A couple of things. If Dan Motter is getting back into sprint car racing that's GREAT news, he is a wonderful, classy man who would be a big plus for the sport and even better if Joey another class act could hook up with him. Anyone foolish enough to think that Shane Stewart is only a 360 specialist knows little about the sport, very little......

If "ifs and buts were candy and nuts, what a merry Christmas we'd all have.
Mind-less, his handle fits him perfectly. Ford dominating late model racing? You best get your head on straight boy cuz you is in need of a mental evaluasheeon. Funny, I get Dirt Late model, Circle Track, Sprint Car & Midget and Flat Out---Fords? Mind-less needs to write them-there editors about the big news he discovered. No one ever talked make/model of powerplant until this goofball started his Ford BS. It's racing, 99% of them don't advertise what powerplant they have under the hood. That's the way it should be cuz if they all did put their powerplant brand on the sheetmetal, from street stock to sprint cars, we really might lose about 50% of our fans.
Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,
Seattle, LA Who the H runs those cities.
