I've been lucky enough to watch him in the last two gold cups . The duel race at Tulare early this year and oh my god the Friday of trophy cup last year was awesome and Saturday . Saw him at chili bowl this year and I hope this coming chili bowl. I'll be at Hanford for the cotton classic and the trophy cup this year . And was hoping to see him at canyon before he heads east for the K&N race where he leads the points . But the wings are off at canyon and the ovals . Maybe I'll be lucky enough to catch him in a wing at the western worlds next month. The K&N race is the same weekend as the outlaw finals in NC maybe they will be lucky enough to catch him there. Good luck Kyle .
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

All I know is.... I saw the kid race (in person) in about 7 shows in PA.... he DNQ'ed in 5 of em..... I'm NOT impressed. I hear all this talk that the kid wins everywhere.... but damn if I've seen it.

This is the exact type of racing that Kyle grew up with, it doesnt get any better than this anywhere. Watch the winged feature highlights its outstanding AND these are only the 360s! Winged action starts at the 2:30 mark of video:
Night 1 of Fall Nationals at Chico
Cheers!

OK,
If your going to compare Lawson to statistically one of the best race car drivers that has ever lived, How old was Tony when he won all those Championships? Try 23 for his first Midget title, and 24 for the Triple Crown!

You really need to get out and see sprint car racing at tracks that are actually good sprint car tracks where constant side by side elbows up racing really takes place. Believe it or not what happens in PA matters next to nothing to the rest of the sprint car loving world. Short tracks are where talent is displayed in its purest form and no Lincoln is NOT what I consider a bullring short track. Kyle is the real deal, no maybe, might be, could be about it. He is going places and doing it by winning in every type of car he gets in.
|
So basically Henry you are saying Lincoln isn't a good short track? WOW!

I don't consider it to be a "bullring". Try reading comprehension, it works.

Yeah and maybe you (and a few others) should lay off the Larson kool-aid. Btw... PA does have a great little bullring. It's called Clinton County. It would be a great place if someone would take it over and fix it up. "Bullrings" however are not to my liking because I can't enjoy myself watching a race riddled with yellows and reds. Which is exactly what "bullring" racing amounts to.

Central Pa Posse: I'm a Posse fan too (Not like you locals tho), but why does liking one group of drivers make it so hard to admit that anyone else is good? I saw Kyle at Hagerstown & the Grove last summer, & it seemed like his car was barely running. But I also saw him whup ass in Iowa past 2 summers.
First sprint car race I ever saw was at Clinton County 3 summers ago. Didn't know what to make of it, but was amazed at the sheer spectacle of all that HP on such a teeny track. Driving back to girlfriend's house, at the first Sheetz gas station on RT.15 after turning off I-80, every car was covered with dust, started BSing with people & one driver told me about the Grove & Posse/WoO rivalry. Flew back from Denver that fall for National Open, now I'm hooked... pissed off aforementioned girlfriend who wanted me to go dancing, but oh well.... she still likes me OK

You haven't seen much bullring racing then, try coming to Indiana. Kokomo and Bloomington beats the pants off anything you have in PA. I've been to the grove, it was good racing, but nothing to what I've seen since moving to Indiana.

I'm beginning to think that once one becomes "Possie-ized" nothing else matters...or maybe it is just the few on here!
Based upon these comments I am sure some Posse folks would (apparently) not appreciate Placerville and Chico. Too bad...as both provide excellent racing.

The THUNDERBOWL is my favorite . And I've seen some real good racing at both Chico and placerville . The gold cup was great this year.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

I just watched a couple vids from youtube at Placerville and its about the same size as Clinton County. And the vid I watched was yellow after yellow. And that was a heat race! Trying to get a 24 car field going on a bullring is about impossible and the leader is in lapped cars in 5 laps.

The POSITIVE IMO on a bullring track is you don't need a fortune 500 sponsor to race and be competitive. I've seen many of 360 cars win against 410 cars at Clinton County. You don't need a 900 horse 50K bullet to have a chance. If a team nails the set up and the car drives off the turns at Clinton one can be pretty damn fast without big bucks. Port, Selinsgrove, and Williams Grove... you had better bring the ponies or stay home.
And I'll be the first to admit... I'll always love to see the winged sprinters in this environment

Your Possee drivers don't win many Nationals. Does this make them lousy ?
