The Danell-Dehart Gambler was my favorite car out west. I was sad to see them sell everything off in 92. I still have a hood and Gambler nosepiece with Gambler stamped in it with the 5 painted on it. The hood has Danell & Dehart painted on it, but the Dehart is a D with a pink heart for the name.

San Jose then Baylands then back to San Jose. 15 min drive to the races , damn I miss them places and times.

The Orange 14 was one nice looking car. Tim Green, one of the nicest drivers Ive ever talked to.

The memories this message board brings up. I miss these old race teams, and everything about San Jose Speedway. The track was my home away from home.

The super modifieds at the fairgrounds track in the late ‘70s and ‘80s were the best show in auto racing. Wild racing and even wilder scene in the grandstands most nights. I went to many shows at Baylands. But if the supers were running at San Jose, I drove right past Baylands on my way to San Jose.

Wheelies, Flips and Foto Finishes are the Greatest. I have a bunch from back in the 90's and about wore them out. One of them has the greatest Dash in History on it, multiple leaders and a surprise ending. I wish you could put that on here Grove, it would be the most watched post of all-time methinks. Hope things are well in your world ol' friend. Steve Kent was one of the nicest racers I ever met, always smiling and positive most of the time, enjoyed our conversations over the years....

Finally had a chance to watch this. Thanks for the link. Brought back great memories. It’s impossible to explain to people who were not there just how wired the place was for the super mods, especially the Key race. The pits, the grandstands — everyone was jacked for that race.
