It's very obvious that some of you don't have a clue what the EPA doe's.http://www.epa.gov/aboutepa/ Why don't you do a little research so you might not sound so foolish in the future... I'm also a fan of OSHA; because I know without those standards for the type of work I've done throughout the years I either be dead or crippled.
|
I'll bet that most of the above post are from those that have no knowledge of how it was prior to 1970 when the OSHA Act was passed. The Conservatives have convinced far too many people that any and all Government agencies are corrupt and not in the best interest of the people. Even for years after the OSHA Act was passed, compliance was spotty and inforcement was inadequate. I began working in the construction industry in the mid sixties and until OSHA inforcement was common, it's a wonder I wasn't killed or crippled also. I have observed and was required to perform task that young people today absolutely would not believe was commonplace. The EPA, like OSHA is not perfect but I am thankfull that they exist.
On a side note: Instead of worrying about exhaust emissions and fuels being the target of the EPA, the promoters and track owners should worry more about "airborn particle emissions" better known as D U S T. This will get the attention of the EPA, the State, the County, the City and nearby residence faster than any other conditions.

"It's is not exactly a distinction that he had in mind, but seven years into his presidency, George W.Bush is in line to be the first president since World War II to preside over an economy in which federal government employment rose more rapidly than employment in the private sector...http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/09/business/09charts.html

Lets be adults here please Bigfish. Just because someone brought up an issue does not mean that you need to go on a tirade bringing up irrelevant subjects to try and dodge the original point.......... The original post was about emissions and the EPA, not OSHA, George Bush, or any other thing that you would like to throw in there. In fact, not only was OSHA not mentioned, it wasn't even eluded to. Now, to the point. Did you read the article in Circle Track? NO, didn't think so. Did you research any of the other issues that were mentioned by the other posters? NO, didn't think so. Regardless of whether you agree or not with the mandate by the EPA, the facts are the facts. Far be it for anyone to point out researchable truths with regards to an issue if it does not fit into your little ideal regarding what the facts should be. I mentioned the article, because you can look it up. This is not a blind concern. Much like the other posters, they are basing their arguments on things that you can research. No one started this to get into an argument with you. So why are you bringing up the other crap???????? Do a little research, and if you agree fine. If you don't fine. But good Lord man, this is not stuff that has been made up to frustrate you!

the goal is to herd everyone out of the rural areas and into cities and connect these areas with high speed rail and eliminate as many fossil fueled vehicles as possible with mass transit "to save the planet"......by making it so costly you wont be able to afford a car..
And just how am I going to research this and that other paranoid delusional crap. LOL Don't forget to hide your guns, and keep working on your "panic" room, OK? Oh, and by the way, why would you think I was just responding to you. Are you all that?

Seriously, if Obama does get re-elected, he can't run for a third term, so there is no telling what he would do.
Liberals would LOVE to get rid of anything remotely hazardous and/or fuel consuming.
|
Well, what makes you think he would need to run for a third term? I mean, he may very well just bring about a Muslim caliphate early in the second term and declare himself king for life. LOL

Yes I agree that no jobs have been created but anyone who thinks that any politican that gets into office is going to create jobs is dreaming. The person in office now can only create gov't jobs, but the opponent has a history of buying companies, loading them up with debt, and selling them piece by piece leaving hundreds unemployed. All any politican and Gov't angency is going to is make a whole bunch of noise and promises that they can't keep around election time and help the corporations that donated to there campagins. That is all the EPA is doing here, trying to make the American people think that they are working on helping the enviroment when they are not.
Remember, we the people are supposed to be in charge of this country and hold the leaders accountable but instead of doing that we choose to vote Left or Right, Democrat or Republican. We should hold all of them to a higher standard no matter what party they are.

Please understand, people start a company to make money. If the business climate (ie) government regulation is so bad that a indivdual can not repeat (can not) make a profit then the individual will not either start or expand that business. So while you are right politicians can not create jobs in the private sector they can kill jobs in the private sector and that is what is going on right now. My hpoe is that all Americans that vote will study and understand what (Capitalism) is and what is going on right now. My goal would be to see all politicians have term limits and can not come out of office with a higher net worth than when they went in.

The crap I highlighten was just a paraniod interpretation but tell me, that was back in 92, how's it coming along? Fact is if it wasn't for the EPA, most of the water we drink would be of lower quality than what our dogs drink out of the toilet.

I'm not sure how not raising taxes and not investing billions of tax payer money into business that are bound to fail is going to hurt racing too much?
It's just another agency....Yes, that we the tax payer had to pay to create, pay to staff, pay to regulate, and pay to sustain - that does nothing? Sounds like a sham, and theres 100 other government agencies just like 'em. The only jobs this fool can create are government jobs, and we need less of those, not more. This president would make a great motivational speaker at a high school, after that age almost everyone has more real life work experience then him. Everyone wants to hate the corporations, but the government is the biggest of them all, and the only one were forced to pay for, whether we want it or not.
|
geez this is an absolute field day for absolutely retarded claims.
There have been over 4 million government jobs shed since this President took office. That's a big reason why the unemployment number is still so high. This is an absolute fact sir.
You are right to have such disdain of your government though, but not for the overly simplistic (and false) reason you suggest. We are paying out the ass for a government that does not represent those paying into it.....they are representing the corporationg you are talking about. Big business can talk all the crap they want about government - but they actually love it. It's an entity that has proven time and time again that it can be bought to represent the big business agenda.
Gear up - it's only going to get worse with the Citizens United ruling in the Supreme Court. Over 85% of democrats AND REPUBLICANS agree that ruling was disastrous. We need less big money in campaigns.....not more.

yeah just like we want to get rid of guns lol.
keep the conspiracy theory alive man ;)
But you are right in what happens if Obama gets a second term. Without having to run for a third....thats when we might actually get some good stuff that can help this country. To this point, Obama has governed center right - kind of like the health care act. The Affordable Care Act (otherwise known as Obamacare) was exactly what Republicans wanted for two decades - it was what Romney passed in Massachusets. And the same people who wanted it (and DID it) are now saying it is "Unconstitutional".
You can hardly find many liberals that are for the Individual Mandate - they all wanted the public option......but it's hard for informed people not to laugh when they hear a republican try to talk down what they argued for two decades that we needed ;)

your drinking obuma kool aid........
bain capitol takes over company's that were already failing and presented to bain by the owners because all other options such as financing were used up and the owners of the company's want to salvage what they could for their years of hard work.......... wouldn't you do the same? ..........
bain would take over management of these company's and take the necessary steps to return these entity's to profitability..........
did all the company's succeed ? no..........
did people lose jobs? yes you must sometimes trim the fat to stay profitable..........
Bain capitol had a 70% success rate in saving the company's they aquired and saved and created over 100,000 jobs that would have never been saved if outfits like bain didn't come to there rescue..............
president downgrade has not done anything but add more debt which is expected to reach 20 trillion by 2016 .............
he didn't inherit anything ....he bought it with a 700+ million dollar campaign
|
you claim someone is drinking kool aid!?!?!?!?!?

Most people I know like to make their own money, keep their own money, and don't need or want anything from our government other than the borders protected. What a novel idea. Of course I am a conservative from Texas, so you know I am just too simplistic and backwoods.
