Welder,
Great pic of the Old Mans car, this engine (289) Ford still exist today, it is in his old CJ Jeep and still runs to this day!!! These are great pic's thanks for posting them they bring back alot of memories!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if this car handled as good as it looked? To me , this is the perfect case for the 'homebuilt racecar'. A man builds it himself, but the car and circumstances have a big hand in how it's completed.
Still in the end, there's an almost spiritual connection between the driver and the car . It's even better when you win races.
I know everybody had to build their own cars, but even in this group, this car looks like a bottle rocket! May not have lasted long, but I'll bet it was fast while it did!

This one could win a few car shows today!
Interestingly- The window is cut out almost like an Edmunds(angles down like a '7'-yet Edmunds car hadn't taken storm yet. I wonder if Edmunds got his ideas for a top from the Kansas cars? Luther Brewer said Edmunds would come in and look everybody over just like they all did.

This window is cut the same way
I am thinking though that the southwest supers from Amarillo on out to El Paso and then Manzy, ending up in California- had a window treatment that angled down before they show up here.

This car was built by Ernie McCoy of Arkansas City, Ks. he had a Engine shop. He was very good at building Flathead Fords and yes this car did run well. I seen Forest at Bryson Mills Chile Feed two weeks ago.
