It was a honest question that got an honest answer.

I'm not surprised GSC only has 37 registered members. There are only 11 cars that have run all 3 races to this point in the season.

The reason Antioch probably doesn't run Civil War anymore is that the participating tracks go dark on the nights that the series runs at other tracks, the promoter probably just didn't find that as a good business proposition. Also the series probably only works with tracks that have a semi-stable base of 360's which Antioch just doesn't have.

I wonder how the Ocean Sprint series car counts will look outside of Ocean. Since many of the tracks they are traveling to don't have their own support base of winged 360's.

if i am not mistaken, tracks that run CW don't go completely dark nights when the series is racing at another track. they just don't copmete with 360's. petaluma ran cw last week, and pville ran a race program the same night that didn't include 360's. your point that antioch doesn't have many 360 shows is correct, although they seem to try to schedule against every big 360 show they can. doesn't GSC give out member cards? don't tracks give out member cards as well or at least something to identify you as a member? while just because a driver is a member doesn't mean the crew are members, GSC used to have a team membership didn't it? if you bought a team membership you got X amount of team members in at a discount if i remember correctly.

to indy and beyond!!

With all that said, what's the word at sign-in?

Stu, I believe the silence tells the story.

I did mean 360's dark. That's the point of the series. Give them a series to travel with, without taking too much away from individual tracks that have them run for points on a weekly basis. If I'm not mistaken this is part of the reason that most tracks aren't part of the series, because they cant "afford" to not run 360's when the other tracks have a Civil War night. Most tracks look at the winged sprinters as their big money maker, not only because they usually bring more people in the back gate but also bring the larger crowds. Also expanding the series means more dark nights for other participating tracks which I'm sure isn't a good proposition for those currently involved. There aren't enough cars now that travel with the series on a full time basis. Last year only 5 cars ran full time and only 12 cars ran at least 75% of the races. Now many of the cars run just enough to make the top 32 to make the invitational Wednesday night race of the Gold Cup.

And a GSC membership registers the owner and 2 crew according to their registration form. And they do issue member cards.

And you are right about Antioch scheduling against every large 360 show. I think this year they even scheduled against the Silver Cup. Marysville is also a non participating track to Civil War and runs 360's when they run, although this year they said they wouldn't schedule against the Civil War dates in Placerville. Which is nice to see tracks located so closely to each other to be working together to improve car counts.
