Hey MSPN

Can you or someone post a pic of BRR? I want to see what a big dick head looks like.

He is a Gypsy from Romania & if you look him in the eye you will turn to stone. Or is he a homeless person from the sewers of New York that got his lucky break. No one knows. Write a book already will ya.

Yes bullring it is, their first ever visit on a wet, cold Sunday afternoon in May of '95, a race won by Dave Blaney with Sammy and Steve next in line. They slid each other for a half dozen laps and put on one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. After the race, they climbed out of their cars on the frontstretch (mandatory at the time by the Outlaws for the top 3), looked at each other, walked towards each other and shook hands and smiled genuinely, I was a few feet away stunned. I think it was Sammy's way of welcoming Steve back to the Outlaws after his bid with NASCAR, earlier that year. One of the best moments in my sprint car memmory bank.

BRR, I started going to races 10 years before you and again, unlike you I left the porch at an early age as well. By the time you had gone to your first race I had been to a dozen tracks in my native Ontario and the USA which wasn't all that easy back then. Freddy, can't jump nor run fast anymore, don't have much money, do have a nice car, have been lucky enough to visit more tracks than most, sold not taken more pictures and still bring it up when questioned by wannabees who've done nothing in this sport. I assume you're another cheerleader like the other nay sayers in this thread and likely a Posse one to boot, some things never change. Happy Easter, Take It Easy.....

OKC, I have set-up and sold at your track during the last few Outlaw shows, a few years back, TK won the last one if I can remember correctly. I lived in the US for almost 18 years, most of them in IN and am now residing back in the city I was born in, London, Ontario, semi-retired and tired of years running up and down the highway chasing racecars. Take It Easy....

All right, my two cents is now going to get thrown in. I know that it probably won't make a hill of beans difference, but I have to get this out and you can either read it, laugh at it or ignore it, it doesn't matter to me.

I have been a regular to this board since it's beginnings, read it everyday and have even done everything I can to help promote it to others. I have met Nelligan and like him (he!! he has an open invitation to stay at my house). I have met Hawker and visited with him many times as well and like him just as much (Guess, you can stay here too, Hawker). I have not met BRR that I know of and don't want to give an opinion on him. For that matter, I have not met many people from PA and don't know what they are like. There are others here from other parts of the country that I have not met but contribute a lot to postings like this and I will not form an opinion of them either. I don't post here much simply because I am not a pot stirrer and don't want to offend anyone with one of my posts being misread or misunderstood.

However, it is time to call a truce to this Shi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have finally gotten tired of all of the PA vs. the WoO vs. Knoxville vs. Satan vs. my kid is better than your kid. I have read it for years, laughed at everyone involved in it, but it has RUN IT'S COURSE! I don't mean to offend anyone, especially those specifically mentioned and I know that my opinion may not matter much, but come on guys, give it a break. I know, I know, if I don't like it, I don't have to read it. However, it always seems to get into every post on here and I can't help but read it.

Thank you, I feel much better. I'm sorry for the rant and, like I said, I don't want to offend anyone or make anyone mad but I had to get that off my chest and that is the last that you will hear from me on the subject.

Sweeton

That show was very, very cold. The early afternoon start was delayed with track prep problems as the frost was still coming out of the ground. I'm not sure when the photo was taken, but if memory serves me right Steve broke his collarbone (nobody knew about it for a couple months) while negotiating the rut in T4 (same place as this photo was taken) during the dash. My seat at the top of the pit grandstands gave me a great view of Steve stomping around on top of the trailer while blowing off steam over the situation. Someone next to me said "Of course he's pissed, he wrecked in front of his father"

Speedbump, yep, Steve had a pretty hard flip exiting turn 4 on the frontstretch that day. It was during the dash and he didn't want to bring out another car and start at the rear so there is a lot of 100 mph tape holding that thing together, if you look close on the pic you will see some. The view from the announcers booth there at Beaver Dam over-looking the valley is one of the best in sprint car racing, I love that place. Do you remember that the owners Brother left the ballpark in between 3 and 4 that day also, that was a nasty ride? Ahhhh, the good ol' days, I miss 'em bad, Take It Easy....

PS Sweeton, I laugh at some of these clowns where envy rues their day, wannabees at best, so sad....

Thanks Mike. The reason I asked about that photo was that I have a 20" x 30" version of that photo hanging right behind me on my office wall. I too was at that event along with many other specials they had. I remember the announcer asking Steve how he liked the track. He said it was a little rough or something to that effect. I love the Beaver Dam track and always had thought it was going to be one of the premier tracks in the country. This year the schedule is a little better than last year. A 2 day Woo sprint show, 1 Woo late model show, and a couple of IRA/Badger doubleheaders. I really enjoyed the 2 times they had the USAC sprint/midget doubleheaders. The racing was great but they were plagued both times by poor weather. In fact the last one they had we drove through rain all the way there. Attendance was poor but I think you have to blame that on the weather. They never really gave them a chance with a good warm summer evening. I guess that's racing.

PS The picture I have is not blurry. LOL

In 1995 at the Nationals I had 120 20 x 30's with frames of that shot, the trade show opened up on Wednesday and I was out of them by 1 o'clock on Thursday, arghhhh. At $40 a pop I wish I'd have had another couple hundred, I did manage to sell more than that in 8 x 10's and 11 x 14's though, strugglin' as I was, lol.

I have not come on here thanking all the fine people that bought those photos over the years and I am remiss for not doing so. My retirement was to be such that I simply fell off the planet, but clowns that attack all those good years and the fun times I had with the fans force me to bring up the semi success I had. Thanks again to all of you for helping out a guy havin' a blast, living a dream and providing the race fan with some memories that forever (hopefully) hang in the basement/garage/bar of wherever they found their way. Take It Easy....

Duane, you trying to say that one of us my try to kill the other (eventually)??? LMAO Good one! We've had our ups and downs, mostly because of the whole long-distance thing, but worked through that years ago. I told Mike that I don't know how people in the military do it?!?! It's hard enough being able to only talk on the phone for weeks at a time. I cannot fathom what it would be like to not know the well being, let alone the location, of the person you love and care for. Besides, if I was ever the take the "stand", so to speak, I'm sure they would take pity on me knowing what I had to put up with for so many years, don't you think? ;)
