With only Allard and Suggs being there it appears there was a boycott by GSC cars.

Anyone know why? WoO membership plus purchasing Goodyears?

Really surprised at such a low car count from the GSC Series!

zack zimmerly and branden carey were there and i would say they are GSC cars. i would call the 83jr a GSC car even though it may not run consistent in that series, same for tommy tarlton. brent and bud were not there racing and the 24 car that walker drove is no longer around. hate to say it but there are not that many GSC teams around these days.

Well Simone and Louden were there and they at least run part of the time for GSC. There may be not too many that run the schedule full time, but there are definitely more that are semi-regulars that weren't there as well. Fredenburg, Bjork, Gregg, Barroso, Statler, Harvey, Stallings, Benson You add up the 7 that were there plus those 8 and you have 15 cars that run the series on a pretty good basis. Plus the 5 or 6 random other cars that always show up for a show here and there, thats honestly not too bad of a following.

stallings has sold his stuff and i believe is going drag racing. bjork if i am not mistaken is not going to be running this year. statler is down on financial support. fredenburg was seen less and less at GSC races lately. not knocking anything just stating what i see and hear. when BK passes up the show to work his parts trailer and help rahmer it makes you wonder just how many other teams are going to have to control their racing desire.

There will be Tulare hilights on SPEED Report at 4pm Sunday afternoon. Here is a report about last night. I hope that Jon Allard is OK........................... World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series racing their fifth race of the season, their second race of the two day show at Thunderbowl Raceway, Tulare, CA STORY BY: Gaye Carmichael (Tulare, CA, 3/06/10) It was a solid run by Joey Saldana of Brownsburg, IN, racing the Kasey Kahne #9 Sprint car in World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series competition, at the Thunderbowl Raceway, taking the lead on the opening lap and then ran away with it to score his first WoO Sprint Series win of the 2010 Season during the second night of racing in Tulare, CA For Saldana, it must have felt like coming home, to take his place on the podium with this win, after scoring twenty-one feature wins in the 2009 WoO season. Saldana is showing consistency, with good finishes that now include not only this win but three second place finishes for a total of four top five finishes and one top ten. "It was great. Unbelievable to blow a motor in the Dash and come back to win the "A" Feature event. It was a great effort for my team to get this car ready. My guys never gave up. They worked so hard to get me back out in time to race the feature. The car is really good and we knew it. It was good all the time, of course with the exception of when we lost the motor. With the motor back in the car I knew it would be good. I want to thank everyone for coming out." said Saldana. Walking over to congratulate Saldana, was the driver who finished second in this event, Jason Meyers of Clovis, CA. Meyers chased Saldana from the original green flag, where he started in eighth place. Meyers climbed his way into second by the end of the ninth lap and stayed in hot pursuit all the way to the end of the race. Both drivers had their throttle nailed to the floor as they charged around the track. They were amazing as they picked their way through heavy lap traffic, with Saldana having the win and Meyers finishing in second. "Joey (Saldana) is so good racing at the top of the track. I was able to stay with him, just couldn't get past him. I thought I might get a run on him (Saldana) racing in heavy lap traffic. It was just his (Saldana's ) night to win and my night to finish in second. Winning the first night of this two day event and reeling in second place tonight, made for a very successful weekend of racing for our team. I want to thank all of the fans for coming out." Fred Rahmer of Salfordville, PA, raced from a fourteenth start and drove into some heavy traffic as he made his way into third. Once there, Rahmer held in third for a great finish. Rahmer, racing for the first time at Thunderbowl Raceway, said, "I really enjoyed being out here. I've never seen anything like this place. The guys had the car very good. I enjoyed meeting some new people and I appreciate you guys for having me out here. Lucas Wolfe (PA) ran a 12.692 second lap to collect the top qualifier award. Once qualifying was done, the "A" feature looked to be the next event. Twenty-four sprints were on the track looking to take the green flag and before more than a handful of sprints could race through the first turn, the red flag flew, when Craig Dollansky (MN) and Jac Haudenschild (OH), made contact with Dollansky getting upside down. Both drivers were okay. Dollansky was out of the race and Haudenschild had to tag the rear of the pack. There were three more flags that flew out, with Terry McCarl (IA) pulling out a caution when he spun his sprint. Immediately after that flag, the red was out when Donny Schatz had his sprint car go over. Lucas Wolfe stopped going into the third turn for the final caution flag of the race. When the last lap of the race was scored, there were only eight sprints on the lead lap. Kraig Kinser (IN) crossed the finish line in fourth, followed by Jason Sides (TN), Steve Kinser (IN), Sam Hafertepe, Jr., (TX), Paul McMahan (TN), Tommy Tarlton (CA), Daryn Pittman (OK), Ben Gregg (AZ), McCarl, Evan Suggs (CA), Zach Zimmerly (OR), Danny Lasoski (MO), Haudenschild, Anthony Simone (CA), Chad Kemenah (OH), Wolfe, Schatz, Corey Eliason (CA), Tim Kaeding (CA), Toni Lutar (BC) and Dollansky. During the third qualifying heat race, on the opening lap, Jonathan Allard (CA) and Tim Shaffer (PA) were racing side by side to take the green and just about at the start finish lap, Allard and Shaffer made contact that tossed these two drivers and their sprint cars up in the air in one of the ugliest wicked and scary roll overs. Both drivers were taken by ambulance to a hospital. The latest report was that both drivers are doing well. It definitely was a weird night of racing, with a good lot of us looking to see if we could find a full moon out there. In spite of the other yellow/red flags, during the event, it was told to us that no other injuries were reported. Unofficial - "B" Main, Heat Race and Dash results, are as follows: "B" Main, six transfer into the "A" Feature Suggs, Zimmerly, Pittman, Tarlton, Lutar, Simone, Jerry Wise, Jr. Heat Races, Top six transfer to the feature Heat #1 Kaeding, Meyers, Wolfe, K. Kinser,Gregg, Kemenah, Wise, Jr., Suggs, Tarlton, Austen Wheatley. Heat #2 Haudenschild, McCarl, Dollansky, Schatz, Hafertepe, Jr.,Lasoski, Pittman, Zimmerly, Lutar, Simone. Heat #3 Saldana, Sides, McMahan, S. Kinser, Rahmer, Eliason, Allard, Shaffer, Charlie Louden (CA). Dash: Kaeding, Saldana, Schatz, Dollansky, Wolfe, Haudenschild, K. Kinser, Meyers, Sides, McCarl.
