This weekend!! The bridge closed this morning (Friday). It will reopen by Tuesday, unless they have some unforseen delays. The traffic will be bad in the Bay this weekend!

If you have not driven north on 101 (toword Petaluma) on a Friday afternoon before, you need to be prepared for heavy stop-n-go traffic. I'd get thru the Bay area and beyond San Rafael as early as you can. If you arrive too early go by Pace Truck Chuck's house and have a beer....if you don't mind PBR.

other than traffic (hey it is labor day week end) this should not be a problem. if you are on the oakland side of the bay you would more than likely be taking the richmond/san rafel bridge anyway, and if you were on the san francisco side you would be taking the golden gate. no reason to take the bay bridge to get to petaluma. good luck!
