Probably T. Hahn board, Kelly, was going to get by your place during the chili bowl but the ice prevented that. So give us some of your insight , what is in store for Creek and all those other racetracks rumored to open up around you up there, and OCRS wingless weekly , what is up with that?

Not the horse track, the 3/8's. Which I guess would be the new fairgrounds? I don't know, over on one of the Tulsa boards some people said that it was being worked on and some said no one had touched it. Just passing on the gossip I saw over there.

Yeah ol Court is/was wound up..............LOL.
Hell JD I'm so out of the loop when it comes to tracks opening/closing around here I don't know what's true or bs!
I'm not so sure the OCRS even exists anymore. Creek is running 2 bbl's and a new non-wing class from what I hear. Sprint car racing on our side of the state is in piss poor shape. Be lucky you guys have what you have over there.
Man we used to have some good racing here, it sucks to think we had one of the best weekly sprint shows and now....................... NOTHING

you old geysers.lol. Although even in my infancy I made the trip to Tulsa......or so I'm told. JD the way you described Tulsa (north) it sounded to me like it was all but done. As far as the condition anyway.
Could Tulsa have survived if they would have dropped a class or 2 and just ran on Saturdays? Could it have possibly renewed the old rivalry with OKC?
These days with the prices the way they are......from fuel to tires to just about everything, it seems as if the days of the old rivalry are dead. Here anyways. In other places where tracks are much closer (ex. Fremont, Attica, and Lima, OH or Central PA) it is still alive and well.
BTW fellas I've flip-flopped again on the lottery proposition. Now if I win I'm going to promote a dirt track. Or maybe just add a ton of money to SFS. Considering what teams spend there needs to be a way better return. Yeah I might run out of doe in a few years, but those few years will be the best ever at SFS. But to win I need to play first to win........and it's been awhile since I've played.

CCC you can see pics of Tulsa speedway on the Tulsa message board ,evidently someone went by last Friday and took some pics of it and it does not look like any work has been done on it to me from the pics , looks the same as it did when we went by it late last summer.Tulsa did not survive because of poor management and promotion over the last 4 or so years they were open (Really all started when Stan Durrett left the place). Did not help any when the racers boycotted the place either , guess it just made a tough situation worse, as for Muskogee bet it is just like Tulsa, to much money to put in up front and not enough guarantee that it will show a return.
CCC, SFS would love you to pony up all that Money you would win, question is without BIG car counts would you still pay it out?, What is your minimum car count 50 or better in each class?

the tulsa board address is http://members4.boardhost.com/tulsametro
Here's some news :
The OCRS has a few shows scheduled at West Siloam Speedway, and talks are apparently underway with other tracks, but nothing scheduled yet. I saw the same rumor about Mid America Speedway running OCRS rules minus the wings on a weekly basis and according to the MAS message board it's true http://members.boardhost.com/mas/. The pay is almost double to win as Creek County's winged and non winged classes.
Also there are talks that Caney Valley Speedway will reopen after being closed for a few years, and will run Fri nites to compliment MAS on Saturday. Caney has always been a good location for the OCRS cars, so I would guess a few shows might be scheduled there.
That's all I know.

The construction has been going on at Tulsa Speedway #2, which is the 3/4 Mile Horse Track. It is one of the many phases at Expo Square from the Vision 2025 plan in Tulsa County.
This is Phase Three for Expo Square. One of the best things to come out of Vision 2025 funding was the improvement of the Ventilation System in the Expo Building for Motorsports events. Automatic sensors control the vents on the sides of the building, adding fresh air to combat noxious fumes that may accumulate inside during these types of shows. Now that is TAX DOLLARS working in the right direction for once!
When ever anyone talks about Tulsa Speedway I feel there needs to be the definition of #1, #2 or #3 as there were Three Locations of Tulsa Speedway.
#1 At the Tulsa Fairgrounds, now Expo Square. Track sat near where Big Splash is today. Entrance was through the center of the building where the Auction is held. Track no longer exists.
#2 At Expo Square the 3/4 mile track which is now called Fair Meadows where they race horses a few weeks out of the year. USAC Silver Crown Tulsa 100 was the last Auto race held there.
#3 At 66th Street North and Hwy 75. Track is still there but not operating currently.

I believe the project is enclosing the lower portion of the Grandstands to be built out into midway service areas for the Tulsa State Fair.
