i posted awhile back before christmas that there could be around 30 traveling teams. a lot of people thought i was nuts. (they know me too well lol.) as far as cars falling out , take a look at just how many fairly well funded teams are in the mix. i agree that there are teams that may not make it the whole season, but you have to remember that a lot of teams found out last year what it takes to run the whole year because they bit the bullit and went for it because of the split. so they have a good idea what to expect even if they may not make as much money. and a lot of teams have continued to sign on even after the list was pretty full. so they knew how competitive it would be . you will always have the "schleprocks" and chicken littles on this board who's first reaction is negitive to anything that even remotely points to woo improvement. that is why so many people here react by saying the car count will fall off, or that woo is so much better now because of the nst. because they can not stand to see it do well because they trash it so much. and after the nst folded it chaps their ass even more because they take it personal because they jumped on that wagon hard and held on tight as it road over the cliff. that is their problem, they followed the green car and it lead them right back to where they were before. only now they have a years worth of smack talk to try and choke back down and it isn't tasting very good. pride is not easy to swallow. the only way they can win is if woo fails. but if they like sprint racing they are in a catch 22. kind of like democrats who can only claim victory for their side if their country fails.

I agree

Oh boy did I take heat for being a WoO backer through all this

Yes...but let us not forget Wright-one....the NST worshippers will still spend the year singing the praises of those who jumped onto the ship that sunk. I wish I could have a dollar for every time they bring up "NST leading the points" or "NST wins this race". It is the only thing they have to hang their hats on. Fact is though, if the NST was so great, it would still be in existence, with or without Fred Brownfield. Should be a great year for all you WoO watchers. And just think, more seat room because those NST worshippers will not be at a WoO race, that would be hypocritical, would it not? LOL!

Strange people sprintcar followers. There are the dedicated ones who love the sport, follow it through thick and thin and despise those who try to drag it down. Then there are the ones who claim to love the sport but spend every living day bagging anything they can find that is good about the deal. The amazing thing is down here in Australia it is exactly the same.We have just had a brilliant Outlaws Down Under with the cream of Americas sprintcar drivers putting on a show and Australias best stepping up to levels not seen when the Yanks have been in town.Three nights of Kinser,Schatz.Sammy,Tatnell,Madsen,Saldana,The Dude etc and when you go into the chat rooms all you get is bad mouthing Parramatta City Raceway and everyone associated, commentators, track curators, drivers, dust, the price and anything else you can dream up.I know we all have our favorites but it seems in speedway if your driver is having a tough time just bag everyone else and that will make you feel better. We have the greatest entertainment available to man ,just support it warts and all and it will continue to grow and provide us with pleasure for many years to come.

Very well said, para. In my opinion, a lot of us "yanks" could take a lesson from our Aussie friends. Their passion for the sport is amazing, and their stature in the sprint car racing world just grows every year.

As I've said before, good racing is good racing no matter who is puting on the show. Why take sides at all? But at the same time, bantering back and forth is a reality in ALL sports, not just ours. Sometimes we tend to take those comments too much to heart. Just buy your ticket and enjoy the show.

The fans have changed as the racing has. The tuff ol' big armed, big balled racers are long gone and the children and women on wings have replaced them for a large part. The fans are a lot wimpier too!

Greg,

I don't know if they've made any changes to their "B" feature payouts for 2007, but here is what they paid in 2006 and this was taken straight off of their website. I, too, am glad they are all back in one group, but the reality of all of this is, with this kind of non A feature money, the bottom line is it will be very hard for some teams to stay on the road full time...CZ
