Ask Corey Day for a lift. You'll get there fast.

Seriously. I don't think there's a faster car right now in the country. Corey Day is on the edge of doing a lot of special stuff in a sprint car. 21 up to 4 tonight at Skagit.

Back in the 90's one Sunday morning my Mother & Dad called and asked if we wanted to go to the Sharon National. We live 11 miles from Port Royal on a dairy farm. I made arrangements to get the evening milking done and off we went. It got pretty late out there and we always go to fair for the Labor Day race. On the way in Interstate 80 Todd Shaffer driving the Beam team hauler blew us off. He regognized our vehichle and blew the horn as he passed. We tucked in behind the hauler in 80 we came. Got to our house at 3:30. I said I am not going to be for an hour and half. My wife worked at the speedway so she went bed and I changed clothes and went to do the morning milking. When I got done it was time for her to go to work and slept 3 hours then went to races again. We talked about that until both my parent died about fifteen years later.

Exiting Skagit when there is a big crowd can be a bitch. So my recommendation, Hardhead, is to dash to your car the moment the checked falls at Skagit. Otherwise, you could lose 30 to 45 valuable minutes just trying to get out of the parking lot. Good luck!

This used to be true, but Rudeen made major changes to the parking. It's much easier to get out now.

I thought Skagit was in Ohio by the clouds of dust everywhere...............Was like trying to watch Sprint Speedweek in Ohio with cataracts.

Not even close, seen races in both and Ohio pretty much has Skagit beat hands down for dust....

The older I get the faster I was.
All of my hard lessons have been learned at the speed of
pain...

New dirt on the track a few weeks ago. Track was super dry and dusty right from the start at hot laps. Not quite as bad as Eldora, but certainly similar.

Odd thing. Hot lap times, qualifying, and even feature lap times were similar. All around 12 Seconds all night long.

Zero probably left Husets and headed to Port Royal for the race tonight.  He will be happy with great track conditions and no dust.

They say I'm insane, but a run from Skagit races Saturday to Husets finale Sunday night, is in my cards.

I'm retired and need a really good fix of two top notch races.

My computer says 23 hours to Husets

State Troopers beware......lol.

I wouldn't waste my time or money, stay at Skagit.
