We are making our official decision at 11:00 a.m.  I am 99% sure we are going to stay put.  4 hours is a long way to drive to sit through a severe storm and see no racing.  I wouldn't mind if they moved it up, but then the only place I have to go is the campground.  Not the ideal spot to be with the weather coming through.  The more I type it, the closer to 100% that number is getting.  frown

I decided Wednesday to skip the 562 mile ride.  Next weekend at eldora doesn't look great at this point but only 90 miles for me

Good luck!  Hope it works out for you.  If weather looks better next weekend, we are going to run out for a Saturday night show at Knoxville just to see something going around a track!!!!   We get crappy weather every April and act surprised!!!  :)

Our track attempted Sunday makeups for years.  Didn't work at all.  Cost them so much money, they did away with it.  I loved the Sunday makeups and went to every single one!!!   I was beyond disappointed when they did away with them and Saturday races were rained out----I had to wait an entire week to see racing again.

I think you're confused and think I don't support make up dates.  I would for sure.  However, I understand why, in some areas, it doesn't fly.  Unfortunately, if Knoxville decided to run a Sunday make up race, I would be unable to attend as I have to be at work Monday morning and I live a solid 4 hours away.  frown

Also, by the way, just because we often don't share the same opinions, I can assure you me and my groups have a lot of fun at the track.  I'm assuming by your name, you wouldn't have an issue with me coming back with a 6 pack every single time I take a piss----which is every 20 minutes.

Fair post. Sunday racing does well in certain regions and make up dates usually seem to work better in the earlier and later part of the season. I think you get confused with business practices and models, one size doesn't fit all. You assume a lot from my name but so have others.

If you look at the weather radar, there is also a huge weather blob headed your way. Knoxville gonna get a direct hit

Anybody else make it to Eldora for "Lets Race 2"?

I made it Friday nite just in time for both features, USAC race was great, WoO was OK

Both races were great Saturday!

Hit Winchester Indiana Sunday for Silver Crown 100 lapper, on a friend's recomendation. But I just can't get into pavement racing, sorry ;)

Weather was fine all weekend :)

Great shows each night. Glad the internet weather girls were wrong.  Stayed at the campground Friday night, very quiet compared to July lol.

100%!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm absolutely floored at how many people don't understand this!  I've heard some say just move the race to tonight.....??????  Huh?  On 24 hours notice?  I don't care if you gave a week's notice, the crowd isn't coming.  Then "move the race to Sunday/Monday"  or  "Move the race to Monday/Tuesday"???????????????

Does anyone understand how businesses work?  It would be fantastic if they did, but I would be absolutely shocked!  My entire group has now cancelled the trip for this weekend.  We are 4 hours away.  Tonight wouldn't work, because most have to work on Friday.  Sunday night won't work because we all have to be back on Monday.  Does everyone really think Knoxville wants to put on a show, with full purse, and hardly anyone in the stands?  Forget the Outlaws.  Forget DV.  You think they wanna open up to sell beer to 200 people?

If I hear one more person say "we used to just run Sunday nights" I'm gonna throw up.  This isn't 1985!  People have their calendars completely full of entertainment and club sports.  Almost no one is available at the drop of a hat anymore.

How come High Limit can do it ?

They rained out last night and rescheduled for tonight.   That seems like common sense scheduling to me.

If they had an advertised rain date and a lot of advanced ticket sales they don't have to return the money. I don't know if that was the case.

We have a track close by---Dubuque Speedway---that runs on Sunday nights as well.  And, it does very well.  It's run on Sunday nights as long as I can remember.  That's different than running a makeup on Sunday for a track that runs on Saturday.

Angell Park has been running on Sundays since the 30's.  Seems to work there.  I was there last night and it was a very decent crowd.  They also have a hard 10 PM curfew, so people know they are getting home at a decent time.
