I would agree with Nick. Everyone I have encountered over my life with even a vague knowledge of dirt track racing have no idea what other 50 different acronym series are but they know the term 'Outlaws' or 'World of Outlaws'. They won't have a clue what the ASCS, ASCoC, NRA, GLSS, A-B-C, L-B-G-T-Q etc. series are but they know when those traveling guys come to the area a couple times a year.

That and the HL series just has a glorified All Star series featuring Brad Sweet & sometimes Larson feel to it right now. Maybe that will change and evolve over time. I don't know.

Dirtvision exists under the WoO brand. Not the other way around.

An example, also in Oklahoma, the WoO, in lesser populated area, Arrowhead Speedway had a standing room crowd.

That's the power of brand recognition.

Front gate is still a very important factor to profitability. You look at the money being thrown at LMs for a few years that has been dialed back a ton with the XR failure and the scaling back of some of the Flo mid week shows. Its not the only factor as it once was but you can't consistently have $100k shows (purse and all the other expenses) with a thousand people in the stands. Over time they'll have to make adjustments.

The other thing is drivers used to racing in front of a minimum of a few thousand people likely are seeing at track t shirt sales decline a bit, online sales may make up for it but it can't be fun racing in front of empty grandstands.

It surprises me how few people actually understand this. You nailed it. And I'll add to this, concessions. A lot of people don't have a clue just how much tracks make in concessions. You can't sell dogs, burgers and beer/soda to someone in New Mexico watching a Port Royal race on Flo.

I was at haubstadt last Saturday.  It was not SRO and a few seats could be found but it was a large crowd especially considering the temperature and I'm sure the promoter was happy.

Looks packed tonight at The Ditch in West Memphis. Maybe the crowds are due to locations more than anything? Outlaw name still holds a different standard today. That could change.
