Wow, Hoseheads is in fine form today. Bill Balog is a 10-time champion of one of the better regional 410 series. He has a WOO victory on his resume. He also has victories from the NSL when it was arrived. However, when announced he was joining the Outlaws, his resume was thoroughly discredited and he is completely thrown under the bus as a driver.
On the other hand, when High Limit announces drivers with similar or lesser resumes, we are told about the greatness of High Limit. We will ignore the fact that some have never won in a winged car. Some have never won on a national level. Some have had different car owners every year for the last x years. I guess I need some of that High Limit Kool-aide.

Very interesting and dead on observation. We're supposed to be so extremely excited over Kasey and Jacob joining High Limit and marvel at how great it's going to be....
If HL lands Macedo or McFadden I'd be much more impressed.

I find Balog more relatable than most of the committed HL drivers. Oddly enough yesterday I was reading about the latest addition to HL and thinking," It might be time for Balog to go Outlaw Platinum", so I'm happy to see it. As for someone thinking that Billy was out moneying the IRA competition, spending money wisely can make it look like you have more money than you do. Also he ran a KWS race at Stockton a few years back and ran top 5 in a typically 7 to 12 place car. I think he wound up 3rd, but it was one of the better runs for that car.
|
The Coldren 07 wasn't exactly a frequent front runner in PA but Balog made it go. Damn near pulled of a win at Susky and the car definitely wasn't handling the best. He drove his ass off and made it handle. He also rolled into Williams Grove with his own stuff a few years ago and ran really tough against the regulars and that's not easy to do at all. WG is probably the toughest track for a driver to figure out but he came in and did well right away which is something you don't see happen often.

10 time champion racing $60,000 cars against people driving $40,000 cars.
|
What are you talking about? If you are saying that he spends $60000 on his car when he is racing against the IRA and those guys are driving $40000 then I think you are crazy. I am sure a handful or more IRA guys have 30, 40 in the motor, and much more than $40000 in the car. Put Bill in a $20000 car and he beats the $40000 IRA guys regularly. It is called talent.

Bill's Outlaw race win was at Beaver Dam, NOT Wilmot. (No N in Wilmot Pete) Bill had the field whooped at Wilmot this past summer but had a kerfufel going into and out of 1 and 2 I believe it was. Had them beat.

The WoO fanboys sure seem to do a lot of crying and whining about having competition.

Change is bad every feature should be $10,000 to win forever.

Some sour grapes from Outlaw fanboys trying to run down drivers that left the WoO.

Fake news. Balog never led a lap at Wilmot and then he crashed McFadden. Macedo was the one that had the field whooped. Macedo had them beat. Macedo won.
See for yourself. Race Highlights are here:

Edit: FYI - I like Balog. But the Wilmot "highlight" mentioned here was not a highlight at all.
