Posse fans can correct me or not if this team is on par with the 69K, but if I remember correctly, Devon Borden (Stehman Shuttlesworth Racing) was doing well.

I nominate Devon Borden to join the 69k.

Devon isn't going anywhere. Especially not to the 69K. Stehman has more money than god & Jim Shuttlesworth is spinning the wrenches and he's also part owner of the 23. Devon has as good of a deal as anyone anywhere right now. He'd be a fool to leave the 23 for the 69K.

Lance fit the schedule.
How bout once mentee Ryan Smith ?  Jacob ?
Just a guess. 40 years for me too and that's all I can come up with.

Pretty sure it's not gonna be a young gun from the left coast to run a limited schedule

I was thinking those 2 as well. Jacob being burnt out running the WOO schedule going to a team with a much less demanding schedule and little travel, also runs the bottom well. Seems like a great fit. Of course Ryan's history with the team which had some success including a WOO win. Not sure if he would leave the Donocek ride but he's mostly been mid-pack in that car.

If I was going to hire a driver, I would be looking at who can do the most with the least. Not how many features wins or what car he was in, or the margin of victory. Can he win with a 2nd or 3rd place car, how hard is he on equipment etc?. I think anybody can see where I'm going here. I don't think the 69K has the money they once did and that's why these things would be considerations if I were picking a driver. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks

Let's hear who you think gets the nod for the 69k for the remainder of the year?

A Twitter or Facebook post says they're not racing this weekend. They received 75 calls and are going to sort through and pick the best fit.

There's likely no bigger 69K fan than me, but 75 calls ?????  75 is about half the pool of active 410 drivers in the country.

Ain't no way there are 75 drivers that would give up their current ride, travel to Central PA, rent an apartment, .........to run one, maybe two nights a week.

Maybe it's 1 guy calling 45 times and another calling 30 - or 4-5 guys calling several times.

Hell, us keyboard jockeys can only come up with about 10 - including Todd Shaffer, Jeff Shepard, and Sammy. And who knows more than keyboard jockeys ? :)

Maybe all the guys that retired in the last 20 years figured if Lance could get 71 wins in his fifties, they might be able to get a couple more in their 60's and 70's. You'd have to include them to get to 75.

It's still a very competitive car in central PA. There's not many big budget teams left in central PA unfortunately.

Below is Don's Tweet.    Don't forget to read the whole thing.

"We are excited to announce Logan Wagner will be the driver for the 69K for the remaining Port Royal shows this year. In the coming weeks we will announce a driver for the National Open."

Just curious. As all this has gone down what has happened to Kassidy  ? She would fill in when LD was not in the seat. Bringing in Logan pretty much puts an end to her in the seat I believe.  Lots of confusion with the 69k, it was always said that when Davey Brown had enough that DK would probably quit also. This is a shame what has happened, time will tell, because if Wagner gets the car up front at port consistently fingers for sure will be pointed at LD.

Guess we will have to wait and see who Linda (Donny's wife) wants in the car for the open.

I see that PA racer and former Knoville Natonals champion is out of a ride, could the 69k be a new spark in his career?

Cassidy runs a different car than the 69K LD drove. Her's is light blue with purple lettering(instead of orange). I don't know how much this move will impact her. I'm guessing she will still run occasionally, but maybe not at Port since Logan will be running every week I assume. They've never put both cars on the track the same night so far.

I hope Dave Blaney is one of the guys on the short list. He would check a lot of the boxes:
-Veteran sprint car driver
-Pretty darned good past win record
-Has been known to run with the WoO
-Familiar with a lot of race tracks
-Easy on the equipment
-Probably not interested in being on the road
-Pretty humble guy
-Lives in the next sate over.
