I think it was 97 because Kevin Gobrecht filled in the seat the rest of the year and they were teammates to start 98 when Kevin went on a tear early in the year before getting the Amoco ride.

I would have been mistaken on this one too! I thought Gman was filling in for Jac Haudenschild after he was injured just before the Nationals around that time.

I believe Jac got hurt in 96 and Kevin got to fill in at Eldora for the HBO. Kevin started 97 in the Apple car then back to the family 92 before Zemco called after Billy got hurt not totally sure because of old age.
