I am curious, other than a BAPS conflict, who else was schedueld to run Sat night Oct22 in central PA?
From BAPS website: 10/22/2022: Denk Electric/Pleasantville Construction 410 Sprint Sprints, Creekside Auto Sales Late Models, Superior Homes Extreme Stocks
The October 22 date for the National Open would not be possible without support from several other Central Pennsylvania tracks working together in assistance of Williams Grove's prestigious event. BAPS Motor Speedway has graciously moved their Saturday show to Friday, October 21, while Port Royal Speedway has kindly agreed to cancel their weekend plans.

Port didn't have 410's, but they had the 305 Keystone Race & final point race for the LLM that they moved from Saturday to Friday. No real reason to do it, other than Port probably figured they would take a bath on fan support.

There will be half as many cars as there should be due to the schedule change.
As for the fan count...it's an unfortunate byproduct of living in an area where most everyone has Bruce Ellis Syndrome and doesn't think anything but a 410 is a sprint car.

The 305 race at Port draws a ton of cars, some from out of state. Friday probably won't draw as many cars. Made no sense to move the date. As mentioned, it doesn't draw a lot of fans and it certainly wouldn't affect the Grove at all.

I don't disagree with anything you said but I think you are overlooking the obvious. The folks that run Port aren't going to want to be at the Blue Collar show when the National is running.

Same here. I want to go to both races. The Blue Collar Classic is always one one my favorite end of year races. I actually wish they would have kept in a 2 day event. By now , it would have been a huge event for the 305's, limited late models ,and 4 cylinders. They may have even been able to add another division or two like the wingless sportsman , sportsman , East Coast 360 USAC or something else.

So Port Royal changes the date of their big 305 race "to work with other tracks."
Yet Lincoln has a super late model race scheduled when the WoO is at Port this Saturday.
This whole working with other tracks is so overrated. The 305 race at Port should NEVER have been moved. It's been on the schedule the entire year. Everyone knows why it was changed, but it's wrong. They should run Saturday.
Lincoln doesn't care if they take fans away from Port Royal this week, so Port shouldn't care if fans went to Port instead of WG. The fan base at Port for the 305s is small and would be few if any would be taken away from WG.

I stand by my prior post. It isn't about Port working with Williams Grove. Its about the management at Port not missing the National.
