Stephany Baker must not use her married name? I take it that it's T J Stutts wife. An article in the Sunbury Daily Item states that her and  her boys  Etan and another one are promoting the track next year. She was Tony Stewart's girlfriend at one time I believe.. Don't know if Tony might be involved as a silent partner or not. Takes financial backing for these type of things. No idea of her financial well being. All I can say is THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND BEST OF LUCK. You will have my support 100%. I have supported Selingsgrove Speedway for 58 years now.0

Ex wife.

i've seen modifieds come up related to baps (another message board...south jersey dirt racing) and now selinsgrove.  i assume this would be to pick up grandview's business.  the same message board that threw out baps also had a post that the zoning for copart was denied by the township.  it sounds like there's going to be more to that story.

how do you think modifieds would do in central pa?  most of the grandview teams would have to pick between bridgeport and a place like selinsgrove or baps if it's a saturday.  more modified and 410 shows would be awesome.

not to create a late model argument...i tried to get into them when flo picked up lucas oil.  i just haven't seen that many great races and run of the mill races just aren't as exciting as the sprint cars.  100 laps is getting to be a long distance for the same guy to lead just about every lap.

Selinsgrove has kicked off the early season schedule with the STSS modifieds for several years now, before they start racing in NY and NJ. I assume this only means that they are keeping that race on the schedule.

I don't remember Stephanie Baker ever being linked to Tony Stewart. Are you sure you are not thinking of Jessica Zemken?

The son that is going to be general manager at the track is 20 years old; her other son is 17.

If Grandview does close, I think a lot of their teams will just get out racing. Sure, guys like Craig Von Dohren, Jeff Strunk and Duane Howard will go elsewhere, but most of the rest of the teams are within a few miles of Grandview. When other Modified tracks like Flemington and Penn National and Nazareth closed, most of the one night a week guys just got out of racing.

Don't some of those teams also race at Big Diamond or Bridgeport?

Duane Howard, Craig Von Dohren, Brett Kressley and Mike Lisowski ran both Diamond and Grandview weekly, but it is only around half a dozen guys doing that anymore. Tim Buckwalter won the points title at Diamond last year, and still dropped back to just one night a week at Grandview this past season with the Modified.

Things are a far cry from the days when you used to have a couple dozen guys running both Grandview and Diamond weekly. On a lot of nights the past couple years, Diamond has been around 20 Modifieds or slightly above.

Grandview and Bridgeport are each Saturday nights, so no one was running both those tracks weekly.

I see BAPS has just scheduled a modified race on the 3rd Saturday of March - which happens to be the SAME date that Selinsgrove has kicked off their season with the STSS(and RoC before the STSS) for several years now. Lincoln also took a 410 show from Selinsgrove moving the Dirt Classic to Labor Day weekend. Looks like the new promoter at Selinsgrove has already lost 2 successful shows of the schedule by other local tracks working against them. Isn't that grand? As if it hasn't tough enough already for Selinsgrove to keep the gates open. Tracks that do that kind of shit to other local tracks better hope I don't win the powerball. lol

Of course you know there is a common owner/ promoter between Lincoln and Susky. He likes his money and don't care much for a whole lot else.

You ever hear of Baker Carbs that would be her dad Steve who was at one time back in the day partners with Mark Richards I do believe.  Stephanie and Smoke were linked before Zemken say like 20 plus years ago!

I may be wrong but I don't believe BAPS has the Short Track Super Series mods which is what would be at Selinsgrove & Port Royal that weekend. Few cars would run both.

A lot of local 358 mods run with the STSS when they are in central PA.

Sure, but a lot of mod fans from NY travel down to central PA that weekend. It's 1 of maybe 5 races on the Selinsgrove schedule that draws a decent crowd.

Have you been to the STSS races? They also have about as any cars as fans. They fill Port Royal to mabe 1/3 capasity for $50,000 to win. And there is not a lot locals run with them in fact Grandveiw has a race the same night as the $50,000 to win at Port Royal.
