Off-topic slightly, but the Gold Cup has really stepped it up in terms of purses. Full regular Outlaw purse both prelim nights, plus $25k to win, $2k to start on Saturday. The total 3 day purse is not far off of the Tusky 3 day purse, just not following the Dolly Parton method that most PA tracks follow.

You're a fan of the Kim Kardashian method, I see. Ample amounts up top and a little more towards the back end.
Nice....

Maybe the Grove needs the outlaws to have a big race. Port Royal certainly doesn't.

I am not going to debate which is the better overall show. On another thread you said the Tuscarora Fifty should not be santioned by anyone Then you say it is not as good because the Outlaws (better cars/ drivers) are not there. Have you ever caught your tail while going in circles chasing it?

On to the racing. I picked TC as my winner this year at the Tusky. Well fast time 2 nights, he just has to get the changes in the track figured out and he just mite win it. That guy is exciting to watch. Good track and some excellent racing, lets hope it continues tonight.

Plus, Strawser's hero Brian Brown cut off Macri in the heat & Macri wrecked trying to avoid him. Macri qualified for the A cause he won on Thursday...He was a good sport & called it a "racing thing" in the interview, but I thought it was a dickhead move by Brown.
Heroic win IMHO & poetic justice! :)

I got a great seat (one of the last reserved seats left) by calling on the phone... worth the 5 hr. drive!
National Open might have a slightly better field, but Tusky has a more fun vibe, with the Fair & huge crowd. National Open is all about Posse vs. WoO, & if WoO guys win, everybody is pissed off.....

It appears thyey had a pretty good race without the outlaws. If it was a WoO race, the winner would have come from the front row.

However, after watching the replay, I guess you could call it a "racing deal"... But live, it really pissed me off, & I was rooting for Macri to pass Brown in the feature... he did that & MUCH more! :)

And with the WoO format, the winners for most every race will come off the front row.

That was clean slider and Macri drove right into Browns rear half-way down the back stretch. Ended up wrecking himself and then "he acted like a little girl" afterwards by his own admission. I like Macri too but he routinely makes aggressive moves just like the 1 Brown did on him in the heat race.

The backstretch outside gaurdrail comes slightly down the track from the turn to the old opening. Brown was following the rail , Macri was basically driving straight , not up into Brown . That's why it was called a racing accident.

I already said a few posts back: "However, after watching the replay, I guess you could call it a "racing deal"... But live, it really pissed me off"...... like when you're on the highway & somebody cuts in front of you & then goes slow? Doesn't that piss you off too? I don't think Macri could have slowed down in time to avoid contact, but what do I know? He called it a racing deal in the interview, so thats that

He's young, he's very talented and he can be very aggressive. All those things will get you noticed, it won't be long before he hits the road.
