could have been a dash or feature but I remember it still being somewhat daylight..

Outlaw show late 80's or early 90's at Lernerville,"The Wild Child" running back around 4th or 5th and getting nowhere on a heavy curb around the top track surface..he knew he had to make something happen quick so goes high down the back straight wide open, actually drove past the cushion into 3 going onto the road that drops down to the pits..then turns hard left across the back of the cushion pulling both front wheels off 4 making up spots blasting back onto the track!

I had never seen anyone try such an insane line but he was getting massive bite and it was working!

about the 3rd time he threw it in back there the car hooked a rut and he flipped wildly ending up in the fence where the pit stands are.

the crowd gave him a standing ovation and I became a Jac fan for life!  lol.

What a great thread. For me, there's a few. The Ryan Taylor/Steve Kinser battle that was already mentioned is definitely one of them. But my favorite was from Lincoln Speedway in 2006. It was manufacturers appreciation night. Todd Shaffer and Doug Esh trading sliders in the heat race with a handful of laps to go. Doug threw a haymaker on Todd then Todd regrouped and drove into turn 3 deeper than I thought was possible on the final lap and beat Doug to the checkers. In the interview later on when they were giving away the prize packages, Todd mentioned how you'd have thought the heat paid $10,000 to win judging by how they were racing.
