Thats funny.... I think Cosell is the one who inspired sponge bricks to throw at your TV ..... wink

There are a lot of announcers that I tune out in the sports world.  They aren't necessarily all that bad but I dont sit fixated on the screen until Feature time.  I flip between races and get up and do other stuff.  It's hard to watch track prep and some of the ceremonies they come up with for the events.  That is a good time to check up on another race.  I like dirt Late Models and most NASCAR races as well so my weekends demand that fresh remote batteries are always handy.

give the guy s break, he will get better.  You learn how to do his job.  I could not do it and I doubt if you could.

The announcer for ASCoC does a really good job, if that is who everyone is bitching about today.  My only suggestion remains the same, turn up the engine sounds and turn down the announcers.  We love hearing the motors, it makes us think we are really there at the race

I like Blake a lot but I did scratch my head last night at one point when he was going through career All Stars stats, I can't remember what he said but at one point I swear he said Larson had X wins and then like two sentences later came back with a different number... I could have just not been paying attention and it was WCS & Overall All Stars but it did catch my attention when it was happening, and it wasn't just Larson.

He is on the mic a lot and I always kinda laugh to myself that if you love sponsor reads, you'll love the  Flo Racing All Stars Presented by Mobil 1!  But that's not Blake's fault - All Stars seemingly have everything sponsored (Work Area, every heat, C main, B main, dashes, etc etc) and if it keeps the series afloat, so be it!

The shout outs to people at home is a huge pet peeve of mine, too, BUT I can ASSURE you as a fan of Northeast Modified racing, Blake is FAR from the only one that does it and CERTAINLY NOT the worst offender.  I swear some tracks the mic becomes a personal shout out platform.  I like how James Essex did it at the Dream... we see your tweets and messages and love 'em keep 'em coming... and that's that. This pet peeve also works in reverse, some announcers haven't seemed to learn they have a bigger audience than just those at the track, either and shout out every person they recognize walking down the front stretch.

But, it could be worse.  We could live in a world without streaming, so I put up with it.

I've noticed the shout outs to 'xxxx' watching from home a fair bit more this year. But alot of the time it's car owners/sponsors Blake is giving shout outs to.

If that makes them feel more involved and keeps investors happy then Blake can shout out every single person necessary I think.

Blake does a great job informing people at the track and those watching on Flo. It could be the first time someone is watching a sprintcar race so he's gotta 'dumb it down' sometimes , which potentially pisses off the regulars that hear the same thing night in and night out. Keep it up Blake.

Blake seems like a great guy who has a lot of passion for sprint car racing. He is not as polished as Johnny (who is?) but that will come with age. One thing I always catch Blake doing is re-using his catch phrases that got popular during his Knoxville Nationals calls, "YOU'VE GOT COMPANY" as an example. During the Nationals it was exciting but every other night it does get repetitive. With that said, he is the voice of the All Star's and I happy someone passionate is calling the races.

Where can I sign up for a job where a bunch of people with little or no experience doing the job I get can critique every word and effort I make while trying to serve those same people with my every word and effort?

Even though I may not know you, I

Any service type job in America. Can start off either as a waiter or go to the other side of the spectrum and be a nurse or teacher.

I personally like Blake more than Johnny. Not that Johnny's bad; just not my style.

I'm more of a Johnny fan than Blake Anderson, but Tony Bokhoven takes the crown for me. The guy at Jackson does well with Johnny during their nationals, and Blake does a great job being a pit reporter when he partners up with World of Outlaws during the ASCoC down time.
