Apparently you haven't seen Hodnett's stats from 2014-2018 or Daryn Pittman's stats from 2011-2012. Heffner's car has achieved excellence before and will again. I'd like to know exactly what they "did" to Ryan Smith? The fact is, he was given 2 seasons to achieve what was expected and he didn't get it done. Just because you like him doesn't make him an elite driver because he simply isn't. A driver of his caliber SHOULD win in western PA. It isn't even close to the level of competition in Central PA. He's a decent driver but not great. He knew what Mike expected when he took the job and he didn't deliver. If that kind of shit hurts your feelings, you may want to pick another sport. God forbid if you'd been around when Hamilton and Weikert were in their prime. Those guys expected excellence and right now and if you didn't do the job, you were gone. They didn't give a shit about your emotions. It was win or else.

it's 2021.  not 2018 and definitely not 2011.  what mike expects doesn't fit what that car is capable of right now.  i'm sorry if it hurts your feelings to say that.

last night came off as a set up for the heffner team.  they doubled their chances to win with 2 cars against essentially a b-main field.  both cars ahead of mike smith ran into trouble.  i'm glad we stayed home.

My feelings aren't hurt. You're the one whining over an underachieving driver getting the hook by a big spender car owner. Like I said, if that type of thing gets your ass out of joint so bad, sprint car racing isn't your sport. Now you wanna say last night was a set up? Did you just walk out of an opium den or something? I guess every WoO race is a set up as well since KKR brings 2 cars to the track each night. That's totally ridiculous. And it's Mark Smith, not Mike.

I wouls say the biggest thing in regards to Heffner and Smith- the deal came together so late and essentially at the request of Red Robin, that there was little time to prepare and truly be invested. Red Robin was looking to sponsor a car and driver and had a list of drivers they preferred, Ryan being one of them. However, Ryan had plans to run on the All Star Tour and it made no sense to sponsor the car as they are a PA based franchise of Red Robin stores and would get very little in terms of publicty or value on a tour. Red Robin also had a working relationship with Heffner as they ha done multiple fundraisers to support Greg post death and when it was found out they might still be interested in running, Red Robin essentially brought the two parties togethers. With that being said....everything form the first year was all leftovers as they had built a team,/fleet around Greg and a lot of stuff was leftover. Heffner was not going to commit to changing anything in the organization to fit Ryan with thaty much stuff sitting in the shop. So the first year was essentially two circles trying to fit in squares for the nenfit of a well paying sponsor and to keep a legacy alive. Year two, they changed to X-1 Race Cars (Ryan's comfort and preferance) and they were very fast out the gate. Ran up front and did win a 360 show. I;d say they were certainly closer to where they needed to be in terms of success. Ryan gets hurt though and needs to be out of the car for a bit, cobine with a lack of wins...things happened. It is a business afterall, so one can surely admit they hadn;t won to expectations. Buit I also don't know that we ever truly saw the potential given the circumstances.

Ryan missed most of his 2nd season in the car with a concussion and he did pretty well in the 69K, 94 and 11 winning against the WOO and a several all-star races. Hodnett and Pittman were the only drivers to have success in Heffner's car. Lance couldn't even win in it. I doubt Shaffer's gonna stay in it much longer the way they've been running as of late. The equipment is certainly good and so are the current and last driver.

Guess what. Nobody cares.  If you don't wanna go don't go, stay home and keep your big yap shut.   No need to come on here and critisize a small track with limited seating for trying to put on a show.   They paid 6 grand to win 3 grand for second.  I'm sure they were trying to make sure they could pay the purse.  The racing was actually pretty good in my opinion.  I'm glad I went and glad I paid 28 bucks.  Maybe it will help them grow their facilty and racing programs. Try being appreciative that you live in an area where so many tracks attempt to put on shows instead of bitching

Yeah we need more 410 shows in central PA because there's not enough already. Then people wonder why car counts are so low. You would think the good car counts last year when we missed a few months from covid would be a BIG clue... but no lets run them into the ground and spread the fields thin.
