Wait a minute... Rico & Golobic were at Knoxville....
Any race results?

Hopefully the large crowd and complete lack of social distancing does not become reason for state to cancel all races
|
This is the reason so many governors and health officials have not given the green light to races and sporting events. We keep seeing comments like "Knoxville is big enough for everyone to social distance"----which is absolutely correct. The problem isn't what is possible. The problem is what will actually happen.
Before I saw this, I was thinking we had a great chance of attending the WoO race in Knoxville in June. After seeing this crowd, I would put that at about a 1% chance now.

Yawn... give it up boys. We're opening up and cases aren't spiking. No different than any video I could take of a Walmart parking lot in the US and those people go inside a building and touch everything they look at... Good thing everyone goes to both of those places by choice. Which they should be allowed to do so. Antibody tests in multiple states are showing 10-20% more than even reported cases bring death rates to near level with the general flu.

Anyone there last night and know if it's true that they ran the b-mod B's and A main first and that by the time they ran the sprint car feature at 2a there was only about 100 people in the stands? Read that on another site

Regardless of what your politics are or whether you think it's a good idea to "pack the place" in the middle of a pandemic, I think we can all shake our heads at the complete idiocy of having an opportunity to build your fanbase and put on an entertaining fast moving program and missing the boat so bad that not only do you risk bad publicity of having an event during the pandemic, but also scarring the people who supported you by putting together a 7 hour show.

I'm not saying the race shouldn't have been allowed. I'm fine with it if the area was deemed "safe." I'm concerned with the reaction of the governors and how they may look at the other states going forward.
If it were my call, there would have been limited fans allowed in Knoxville on Friday night with social distancing rules enforced to set a good example of our sport for the governors around the country. I don't know if the MO race will be a good example to show them. JMO

A) There's a 14 day incubation period. We'll see what happens
B) "death rates to near level with the general flu."??? In 2 months we've already passed the average total flu deaths for a year

I was there for the first time in a few years and wow is all I can say! Over 200 cars in the pits with 50 plus sprints! Ran a little late but a great show! From my understanding this was their new promotors first ever show. Great job by him and his staff. As for the whole pandemic thing, to each their own, we have to start opening up at some point and you have to remember this is for the most part a rural community not NYC! And i doubt you will see a hot spot develop from this! I had a great time, felt safe, and was good to get back some part of normalcy. I went there by MY OWN CHOICE, which made it even better. I would do it the same way again if given the chance!

Interesting to note that NASCAR filled Phoenix March 8 with no apparent hot spot occuring. The virus had to be there at that time.
Within hearing distance of Tri City Speedway

Of course it is your choice... it is your life.
Pity it was not that simple. Did you go alone or ride with a bud? Did you live alone? Did you go to work on Monday? If the answer to any of those was yes, then it is not just your life you may affect.
Having said that, the odds on you catching Covid at that race is extremely extremely small. I am glad you had a great time because I am in serious need of a methanol fix.

The green grass on the facebook video would be a welcome sight without the packed parking lot.
3 degrees under freezing last night at my house.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Just trying to keep up with Tyler Courtney
Soon there will be no non-wing drivers remaining. :)
