Sprint cars and winged sprint cars, I love them both. I've been going to sprint car and winged sprint car races for 55 years. Regardless of whether they have wings or not, when I get to the track and hear the motors and smell the methanol I still get goosebumps.

A few years ago, I had an older retired driver ask me if I had ever been to Indiana Sprint Week. I told him I had not, but it was on my bucket list. He told me I needed to go. He said I'd see more passing in one heat race than I'd see all night at a WoO race.

Three degrees?.

Hmm, let me figure this one out.

One degree in lack of morals.

One degree in being a true racist

One degree in Eugenics-as the fucken idiot Trump and all his supporters believe in.

And the Democrats call themselves the party of tolerance and acceptance. And Nancy P says the best part of being a Demo is they are willing to listen to others opinions! But the rank & file keep proving all those statements wrong. Go vote for senile Joe in November.

Now enough of that crap  I'M READY TO GO TO SOME SPRINT CAR RACING!!!

I haven't quite achieved your levels as I only have 40 years under my belt of attending all forms of Motorsports.I also get excited by the smell, the sound of the idling 410 to the sound of 410's wide open.

So being the originator of this thread, I posted what I thought was an innocent post, to stir up debate.

Some seem to disagree ,which is no problem, then they go on to an insult.

Have a go at this post ..........

Actually, you were the one who had to take the first swipe in your original post. I like both, prefer one but don't feel the need to insult either. There is nothing wrong with an opinion either way. You compared one to NASCAR in a derogatory manner then cried when someone responded in kind. If you stir up shit you always get some on you.

I grew up watching wingless in the 60s in North Dakota.  A few years later, wings started showing up and then they all had wings.  In our modern era, maybe 20 years ago, maybe 25, I saw the CRA guys on a Thursday night at Eagle, prior to the WoO Fri and Sat shows.  It was ok, but they were throwing the cars sideways at the freaken flagstand to get around one and two.  Not for me but I'd go if it wasn't a long drive.

I also enjoy both and I'm a former owner driver of both.
First off I'll say I have respect for anyone the spends the time, money and effort to tow to the track whatever they run.  But my opinion and that's all it is, is that one reason you'll see more passing at non wing races is the disparity in financial abilities of the teams. Money iplays a huge part in what it takes to make cars fast. At a non wing show you've got teams who nearly have to cash in pop cans to get to the track racing against some very well funded cars. its no surprise that there is speed disparity on the track.  And Indiana Sprint Week just magnifies the $ disparity.

I started going to dirt track races in the early 60s, in Virginia, then gave it up for 40+ yrs. after moving north & attending 2 races on pavement. About 10 yrs. ago I was in upstate NY, heading to Southern Pa., when a friend gave me a Circle Track mag, which mentioned Central Pa. sprint racing. So i went to the Net (this site!), & started looking for races, specifically winged races on 1/2 mile tracks. First race in 40 years, hooked. Eventually I saw videos of wingless racing at Kokomo, looked more competitive, sparked my curiosity.. On one of my yearly cross country  migrations, had the chance to see wingless racing at Haubstadt, Indiana, loved it! Now I prefer wingless on a bullring, but still dig both forms... wish I lived closer to Indiana.(Used to travel there, until 97 yr. old Mom fell & broke her arm while I was gone last summer, now i'm scared to leave her too long) Eastern Storm is good, but low car counts & mostly big tracks

My personal preference  by far is the 410 winged cars! Just not a fan of 360 anything!!

You may just have 360 traditional cars where you are at, but that's certainly not the case in more than a few states. March 7th and 8th, this month, we had a two-day traditional 410 show here in AZ with the Amsoil USAC/CRA bunch combined with our USAC/ Southwest 410 bunch. S.Cali, AZ, and N.M. have always been a traditional sprint car country. Yes, always, just like Indiana. Of course, we have 360's as well.

Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.
