Hey smoker, don't you work at the track?  If you are who I think you are, you likely were in no position to judge the move and as the majority of the comments in here, if you did see it, then you are flat-out blind and just a hater like the minority....You have interviewed Sammy enough to know that he tells it the way it happened even when he screws up and I'm not calling the lead poster here Tony Bokkhoven.  I have been wrong before and you can email me to tell me so, my address hasn't changed in over 20 years....

It is entirely possible that shit just got real. Popcorn engaged.....

Not a Sammy fan and he handled everything great there. He didn’t run Kennedy over and wasn’t whinning about anything in interview. Kind of shocked really.

Interview after night one of the 360 nats with sammi was hilarious. A man I have personally witnessed cut down on opponnents numerous times, and so have you, those who had the audacity to get a run to pass him, sending them flipping into the infield destroying their cars in some cases.  So Kennedy rather mildly pinches him down to slow his momentum and win the race. Tears.  Typical of his career.

HAHAHAA! Thanks for the laugh, Sweetheart! GREAT race!!!!

As far as Sammy "whining" goes, that wasn't whining.  I'm guessing even Sammy realized that had he been in the lead and Kennedy showed him a nose on the last lap, ie roles reversed, he would have did the exact same thing Kennedy did, neither did wrong, I'm guessing THE late Jason Johnson's quote could have been said by Mr Kennedy "shirt I wanted to win!"  Was Sammy disappointed with 2nd...hell ya. That wasn't Sammy whining. It was disappointed with runner up. They both told it as it was without sugar coating. Definitely NOT a Sammy fan here, just telling it as I see it. However, to say as someone did above that Sammy tells it like it is EVEN when he is at fault or screwed up, well then THAT is a stretch. Kinda finding myself pulling for the old man down there in Knoxville for some reason, old guys rule. I just hope he doesn't screw that feeling up for me.

I don't think Kennedy saw Sammy and then turned down. That was the pattern he was running he would run the cushion entering turn 3 then turn the car down as he came to turn 4. Watch the last 4 laps.

This from a guy who would probably piss his pants just firing off a sprint car.

Sammy definately was gracious describing the last corner stating Kennedy did what he had to do.

I guarentee you though Sammy and every other racer that makes the A main next saturday completes that pass in the same situation.

Great run by Sammy last night, was definately worth the price of webcast.

Exactly! Sammy was playing it cool in the prelims....

But we don't have to wait until NEXT Saturday.... tomorrow nite, No More Mr. Nice Guy!

Just watched the interview. No whining, just "telling like it is"

Also watched highlights.... great race! Good battle between Hodnett & Brown, then Sammy passes them & another car like they were standing still. I think he could have passed Kennedy on the last turn, but Kennedy made a good racing move. Sammy would have done the same thing.

Looking forward to Saturday nite Final.... has anyone ever swept 360 & 410? ;)

Ahem,,,, by the way, Hodnett beat Brian Brown on Blackjack's home track...... off the porch!

Second is only two points less than first.  Finishing 20th after a crash would be 40 points and from starting solidly in the A on Saturday to being somewhere in the C, I'm assuming.

I think Sammy has become much more technical in his choices the last few years and that's why he has again become a topic of conversation.

Yep. He respected Sammy but wanted to beat him, as he should.

Here's what Kennedy said: "I looked at the board and I see the No. 3 car was there and he’s the veteran of the veterans at this track and when I seen him underneath me for the checkered I went no way you’re passing me,” said Kennedy of his run and final trip to the front straightaway."... Just like Jason Johnson when he beat Schatz

Both interviews were honest & fair minded. Watch out for Mr. Swindell Sat. nite......

Important thing is..... everyone there knows who was the fastest.

The last few laps the Jaws theme should have been playing because Sammy was coming.

Yeah,  the 21k... won the race now on to nite two.

... in a 360. How much would you like to bet that Brown finishes higher than Hodnett when the real money is on the line?

First off, no, no one has ever swept both events. Second, I don't recall anyone from around here saying Hodnett couldn't drive. In fact, probably just the opposite. And he did get plenty of time at Knoxville when he ran with the Outlaws, they used to make five stops here a year back then. He and Brown went at it pretty darn good there for some laps. That's fun to watch regardless who comes out on top.  He's pretty regular when it comes to appearing for the Nationals, so his being here isn't a big surprise.

Lets face it, Brian Brown has been the closest guy to Schatz  in The Big One, several times. Therefore I wouldn't bet you a penny!

But if Hodnett beats him, trust me, I'll brag about it ;)

Flat out blind, From what I've been called, that is quite mild, I see enough to know what is black, and what is white. Yes you probably know who I am...best for me to leave it at that

" I don't recall anyone from around here saying Hodnett couldn't drive."..... I don't recall me saying that anyone said that...

Just another volley in the eternal "Posse vs. the World" game.... & a rebuttal to the eternal "they're no good off the porch" thing ;)

Well I do recall some Posse fans getting down on Hodnett pretty hard last year and some the year before that when he didn't appear to be where he was three and four years ago. And some of those fans putting him down weren't very nice about it. I know that one of my responses to those Posse fans was that he "hadn't forgotten how to drive overnight"! And I was fine with you thumping your Posse chest over Hodnett besting Brown the other night. :) Really! I do get a kick how some Posse fans don't reserve their extreme criticism to just outsiders.....hell some of them bash their own pretty severely, also. Never have understood that.
