Plus, I counted 38 cars at Lincoln, 27 at the Grove last nite. I guess teams prefer shorter tracks too....

The Grove hands down is the hardest track on motors in this country. That is the main reason for the constant low car count at the Grove.

I don't think that is unusual. The speedweeks races get the track regulars plus the few cars the travel for the week. We can argue all day about why but the Grove seems to have lost some it's luster. That is why speedweek car counts are better at the regular 410 tracks. Also with the excetion of Path Vallet today and only because Fred promotes that one the other tracks pay $5,000 to win and Lincoln, Port And the Grove pay more.

Just doesn’t seem like speedweek to me without the Zemco #1! Guess they’ll just run Port. Stutts is out with injury, no Ryan Taylor ( won at the Grove earlier in the year), Krimes a no show (saving the engine?), and Mark Smith MIA. All 4 showed at the Grove historically for speedweek shows. If memory serves me, Mike Wagner ran speedweek shows at the Grove in the past.

Thinking the same thing about the Zemco 1 being MIA. Pretty good for Lincoln to draw 39 cars with only 2 Port regulars. The Mitch Smith Memorial will draw more cars than the 1st Grove show. I think Hagerstown and Selinsgrove are the only tracks that still pay 5G to win. Every other race is 7G or 10G.

I don't get it... WG is a regular 410 track, so why did Lincoln draw more cars?

Another is Rick Lafferty, who never missed a Williams Grove Speedweek show and there are others. Somehow I kept thinking the Zemco#1, with Logan Wagner, was going to surprise us and follow the whole Speedweek schedule. But I guess having the team race only one night per week at Port Royal is better than NO nights per week.

Lincoln historically (at least in recent years) gets more cars than the Grove for weekly shows. A number of teams race solely at Lincoln. Guessing the lower buck teams feel they don’t have competitive engines to run at Williams Grove!?

I think we'll see Mike Wagner at the Mitch Smith Memorial. He runs that show every year. He also always shows up at Hagerstown as well. I would expect to see Taylor at Grandview. He always runs there because he lives about a half hour away.

Taylor also raced Grandview weekly for a season or two in a Modified before going Sprint Car racing.
