Maybe you should make a list of how the track should be run so the new owner doesn't offend you.

He's only saying what the majority of us have been saying all along. If we are blessed with a new owner, no way it could remain as screwed up as it was with Brennan.

Being from Ohio, I didn't really have a dog in the fight on this topic. On one hand it was good to see a guy invest money into sprint car racing/dirt track racing in general, but on the other hand I never really understood business plan. The whole Pawn Stores, radio station, gun range, and race track seemed to be something of a fantasy city that he was trying to build for himself. It always sounded like he needed/wanted to be liked more so than running a successful business when it came to the speedway. It seemed more often or not he was in a pissing/d!ck measuring contest with someone whether it was Todd Quiring, NSL, Knoxville, or fans that critiqued his events
With respect to the asking price of the track, I understand that Chuck put a lot of money into the place but just because you put that money in does not mean you are going to get a return on that investment. As my realitor friend told me in respect to every sale when coming up for an asking price you have to figure out one in which a certain amount of people will be willing & able to purchase. And 9+ million dollars for a sprint car track is not going to leave to many people willing and able. Tony Stewart bought Eldora back in 2004 for 3.44million (according to Darke County Auditor) and with appreciation of land, other investments on the track, popularity, he might be able to get 9-10million out of it. But I would say other than that track, very few dirt tracks in this country will sell for 9million, and it doesnt matter how nice the grandstands are.

The only pissing contest was all one sided. Brennan thought he could piss on the other tracks and make a big splash. He did, but it was a belly flop! His own! As for the measuring part, the loudest guy in the room usually is the smallest.....

Agree with you completely on that. The first time I saw him post car counts between Knoxville & Badlands I just shook my head. That and the way he handled the criticism was childish at times.
I never could figure out his motivation in running the track. It did not appear that he had any previous ties to the sport. It just seemed liked it was more driven by wanting others gratification and when it didn't come he through a fit. In order to run a race track you have to have passion and business intelligence and it seemed he did not have either. The whole closure of the track due to the law being passed was a cop out. That track had survived by itself for years so if he truly loved racing he would have been able to make it work
