? Is that a B-main or what?
|
No. They split the field in half after time trials. That's where the "Group A" and "Group B" are coming from..Each Group is running their own complete show. I probably did a bad job of explaining it.

2:30 am final observations:
- Shaffer seems to be the guy to beat
- Starks, Reutzel, Brown, PPM fast as well
- Lots of passing in both A mains. Bodes well for tomorrow (which is now actually today!)
- TONS of flat tires. Don't know why...was not dry slick
- Great showing by the PA and Knoxville guys.
- Good show. Looking forward to 17 1/2 hours from now to do it all again!

I didn't get to see anything tonight so what happened in Heat 6 that the swindells felt the need to go to twitter and pop off about trashing the event format and other driver? And seemingly from reading updates their driver did the exact same thing in the feature tearing up Netto's car.

Assuming you mean the Swindell Bayston car.....track was rough on the bottom of 4 and a guy bounced and pushed hard to the right collecting Bayston. Totally a racing incident imo. Damn, the Swindells make it hard to root for them.

Yes the Swindell-Bayston car.
Heres exactly what was said:
Nothin like a kid with a little money and zero sense to ruin it for everyone else.
This is every reason why an invert with no points system or reward is stupid. Our time matters nothing. Gotta start on the back of a B because some douche of a kid who refers to hisself a “TRevv” hit a invert and has zero regard to other cars on a racetrack. WHY DID WE QUALIFY

Kudos to the Mansfield track crew for getting the track surface to where they did. Turned out to be a great show all around imo.

Why does that family race if everything that happens makes them so miserable?
Btw, Jo Swindell, the "douche kid's" first name is Trevor, hence the T-rev. It's a nickname - kinda like "Slammin" Sammy, Ya? Smh.

Eessh, a real take a look in the family mirror moment there. Anyone know what their qualifying time/spot was? Wouldn’t be surprised if they were spouting off about a 10th or worse effort.

That was an elbows-up, cowboy track if I ever saw one. Looked like the fastest way around was brave it over the ruts on the bottom and hope to hit them just right so your car was facing forward coming off the turn. Some damn good racing in the A-mains though despite all the cautions/flat tires. Late night but I thought the track did an outstanding job keeping the show moving after a 2 hr delay. Considering the number of cars and the fact that the format was 2 complete sprint shows in 1 night. Now that's how you do time trials! 2 cars on the track and keep firing the next one off with no delay. TT's went quicker than hotlaps. That's how it should be done all the time IMO. I hope the touring series were paying attention to that.

I liked the even/odd split of the field. Can't get much more fair than that. And it showed in the racing. Good format!

As for the all important Posse vs. the world debate(LOL), the night started out very well for the Posse but then our guys got shellacked in the features. We had just about all of our best cars starting near the front in the A-mains and they looked like they had anchors attached to them when the green flag waved. Only McIntyre was able to get a lock in spot and that was due to some misfortune for a couple cars that were ahead of him. Zearfoss was running well, 3rd and looked to be getting faster when he rolled to a stop. Hopefully the track will be a little slicker and smoother tonight so the posse can compete. hehehe

There was a video posted from inside the cockpit of Bayston and its hilarious they are complaining about this. 45 clearly hit a hole in the track causing both front wheels off the ground. Sucks that an accident happened but on a rough track stuff like that can and will happen, what a bunch of entitled crybabies, I guess he should have just pulled over and let the 39 by.

That had to have been a real "PISSER"! (pun totally intended:)
Attempting to be a voice of reason in a world full of
irrationality.
