Heaed on Winged Nation that something big is going to happen close to home ,It would be good to make the spring race at Charolett bigger ,but I hope they dont schedule against the Weikert race at Port or the big one at Mandfield.
The more big paying shows the better but i hope they dont start running against each other.

I'd put my money on them scheduling against Port or Mansfield or something.
but, in fairness, there's only so many Saturday nights, I guess

I think I read somewhere (probably here) that the Outlaws will be in Texas (Devils Bowl?) the weekend of Mansfield.

that makes sense...they can cherry pick the ASCS 360 guys since the regional draw for 410s will be further north.

WRG will do everything they can to make sure no followers show at mansfield. World of Followers, has a good tone to it don't ya think. ? Over the years they have put blinders on the tour racers. Race elsewhere and you will be black balled.

If it’s so bad, why are there so many ”followers”?

Hyperbole much?
What about Gravel at the Weikert Memorial last year? Marks at Port this year? Pittman at Williams Grove this year? Shark cars and Pittman at Susky this year. I think on a rainout a few have run at Knoxville for a weekly show a year or two ago.
Seems like they let them race a little bit more than you think.

Pittman wasn't at Susky this year upon further review, but my original point still stands.

A few interesting tidbits came out this weekend, was wondering if anyone heard anything else:
- 2018 National Open to pay 56k to win, 1k to start
- Port Royal to have 2 day Outlaw show in late October
- KKR back in 2018, with both cars
- Seemingly everyone else back in 2018 as well, plus Lorenc
i wonder who will drive the Stenhouse 17 car next year.
|
The rumor I heard at the end of the season was Shane Golobic in the SWR 17 bringing a crew chief. I'm not sure how true of a rumor that is so take it with a grain of salt. It does make sense with his ties to Wood but we will see.

There are rules in place with the followers that make it hard for guys to go race of the schedule. There not outlaws anymore. They are making it lucrative for guys to follow the series. Yes. Platinum series teams they are called. These big paying races should not have WRG scheduling against them. I'd like to see williams grove drop them for the national open. Knoxville sure as heck doesn't need them, nor does eldora.

Without the Outlaws, the Grove may be out of business.

I guess it's an assumption that the SWR17 will be on the tour still be on the tour. Money might be tight for Stenthouse. It looks as though he will be a 1 income family next year.
