Now they are a little bit at the mercy of the draw. Wouldn't be surprised if they were worse than 2nd quick tonight.

You called it dude...

If it was off why the heck did only 2 cars not make weight and why weren't weights like all over the place.  Weird...that's not sarcastic at all, seriously curious why if it wasn't calibrated right that only 2 of 48 cars registered light.  They got it figured out is the important thing.

Best guess is the other cars were enough over the limit that even with a false decrease due to scales they still cleared weight. I wouldn't think all cars are right at the border of the weight limit.

They didn't "fix it in time". They screwed Bayston out of a top 2 time. It is very hard to duplicate that and in the Nationals format, that's like a 2nd place a main finish.

That would be my guess as well. I have no experience with the scales they use to weigh race cars but I do with industrial scales. My guess is they had the tare weight set wrong.

First off...I started this post somewhat in jest, somewhat sarcastic and yes, making a "dig" on Swindell.  Respect the heck out of Sammy for his mechanical intelligence, ingenuity and what he has done for the sport....he's one of the Big 3 for crimeny sakes alongside King Kinser and The Wolf (my all time favorite). On the other hand, well, I just don't like him or his driving style. My opinion, my right and I'm not here to convince you that since it's my opinion it should be yours as well. As far as for Kevin...I respect the heck outta him for fighting back to walk from his injury and at the same time putting together a successful team with a young hot shoe. But, like Father like Son, I dislike him for the same reasons. Again, my opinion and I'm not here to convince you otherwise. My dig was based on after all of his Twitter nonsense last week, then oops. Well oops on me. It wasn't their fault as it turns out.

Secondly however, dsc1600....Knoxville didn't screw anyone outta anything. Obviously they didn't catch the scale issue until too late. Unfortunate as it was, they couldn't turn back time and do a do over. And, due to time and a possible mutiny by fans, they couldn't redo time trials and scale each car again. So they manned up, admitted the error and offered them the best they could offer, an apology and ya can run Thursday if you wish. Luckily this happened on Wednesday instead of Thursday. An unfortunate set of circumstances yes, screwing someone, no.
