Can I assume Silly Season has officially begun?

I think it's safe to do so.

I think I was present to see that car blow an engine at least twice...one time it was hot laps and another was lap 1 of a heat race if I am not mistaken.

I think both the owners named in this thread will be looking for someone with a little more seat time at the Grove in actual racving conditions...and not on the hook with the juice running out of it.

I don't remember him finishing a race in his very limited appearance over the past couple of seasons. Even when it is running, that engine sounds like total shit. Sounds much more like a lawn mower than a sprint car. Regardless, you're correct. They're going to hire a proven talent who can win races.

I'll throw a name out there to fill the Barshinger ride that might surpise some....Chase Dietz.

He's doing ok, not setting the world on fire. And he already had 2 shots ( Gobrechts car and Godfreys car ) probably 4 cars if you consider Steve Siegal gave him a complete roller and Roger McKean put the motor in it to give him his first ride. The 2d car he's driving now was bought for him by 2 crew members with one of Coreys motors. Not a Chase hater before anyone wigs out. Just sayin He's been VERY fortunate. A lot of desrving drivers that have had no help , could showcase their talents.

410's..... Freddy or Brandon, Zearfoss, .................358's....Hammaker, Campbell, Hersey

Lets hear others drivers everyone would like to see get a shot., I'm sure I'm missing a few, especially up at Selinsgrove

Freddie and Brandon have it better than most kids could ever hope to. They are surrounded by greatness. Moon turning the wrenches plus coaching from Fred and Stevie. Doesn't get much better than that. They also have a close partnership with Fred's longtime friend Don Ott as far as horsepower is concerned. They've got everything they need to be great and especially in Freddie's case, it's starting to show. If I were Barshinger, I'd be after Alan Krimes. He's a proven winner. He's won against the All Stars and has proven he's capable of beating the Outlaws. He's also a 2 time and defending Lincoln Speedway champion and that is largley due to his ability to be consistent and finish races. Give him a car that's capable and he'll wheel the hell out of it and he'll likely put it back on the trailer in one piece. The dude rarely crashes. For the schedule Barshinger runs, I couldn't think of anyone better. An honorable mention would be Gerard McIntyre Jr. He's very good at Lincoln and has been decent at Williams Grove (2 career wins I believe?) when he used to run there. I think he has talent beyond what his equipment will allow him to show and he could also be a good fit.

I don't know his situation, but how about Aaron Ott in the Barshinger ride?

If you want an outsider - how about Cole Duncan?  Again, not sure of his personal situation, but he's shown plenty of ability to get the job done against the competition in Central PA.

As for the Highlands car, I expect that'll be a name guy.  Especially if they want to travel.  My guess there would be Rocky Hodges...just kidding.  How about Aaron Reutzel?  Again, no idea.  But he's talented as hell.

Wouldn't be surprised if Saldana and McMahan drop off tour, but not sure either would go to PA to race weekly.  SpcJay said he heard rumor Saldana to Wood Racing for All Stars.  No idea about McMahan.  The Highlands team also hinted at doing some more traveling, etc. so maybe that will attract a bigger name too.  Not sure McMahan would "relocate" to PA if they do bulk of racing there or travel there weekly, which I doubt the team has the fiscal strength to do.  As you say it'll be interesting for sure.

Wow, Saldana in the Wood car on the All Stars tour next year - that would be awesome!

SpcJay or Nickules - where did you hear this if I may ask? Is the Roth ride done now after the World Finals?

That's all SpcJay.  He said the Saldana thing on another thread that I couldn't find or I would've linked it (but that's why I gave him "credit" for it).

No idea on the Roth ride, but if you have even a modicum of knowledge of Dennis Roth he's probably not happy Saldana wasn't Top 3 in points (but can still maintain Top 5).  Then again, maybe he surprises us and keeps Joey behind the wheel...buuuuttt probably not.  Haha.

Don't think it'll be Reutzel. 360 prowess but 410 is still a bit of a mixed bag (is getting better and has definitely had some real good runs in a 410). Definitely has talent. Plus he's used to running ASCS competition and I believe has a young family in Texas.  That'd be a heck of a relocation move for him and his family.  Probably not ideal.

Rocky Hodges!  The last time I saw him run was at Mecum Harrisburg this past July.

yes Lance.

Look at it from Barshingers side!!  Whom better!  The guy can still get it done. Put Lance in the car, build a stronger team and win some races along the way!!  Than bring a younger guy on to take over for Lance in a few years!!

You're looking at it from the wrong side.  If you're looking at it from Barshinger's side why doesn't he just call Schatz...just kidding, but Lance wouldn't take that ride.  He toiled around in the underfunded 14 for a few years.  With the success he's had this year it makes him a more eligible "free agent"...but all that might be for not as I see no reason the Dewease/Kreitz partnership ends (unless Lance wants to run more races).

You really thing the Kreitz team is funded well? I would think Barshinger would be on the same level wit the Kreitz team when you talk about funding!!  And Yes, maybe Lance wants to run more races!!

I am in no way speeking for Lance or Kreitz!!

As for Selinsgrove guys I believe if given the chance TJ Stutts would do extremely well in a good 410 ride.

Davey Brown and Donny Kreitz turning wrenches + limited, high paying shows has equaled success.  Funding aside. They've smartly played their fiscal structure/constraints to their advantage by doing this. And it worked.

Lance would have to be more hands on with another ride like Barshinger's.
