'Not arguing, but.... In those results I see only:
SD: Justin Henderson Matt Juhl Dusty Zomer Clint Garner James Spires Adam Specman
ND Mark Dobmeier Lee Grosz
I'm counting 8 total. Spires and Speckman are from Rapid City- way out west. That's 680 miles from Knoxville.

You're either blind or trying to start something. I don't care. Either way I'll stand behind the FACT that there are 11 entries that night from ND/SD.

FACT: I count 10 "entries" and 8 "drivers". Out of those "entries" you could scratch Sires and Speckman off the list so that brings us down to 6 drivers. I would also scratch Grosz off as he just kind of hits wherever whenever. So we are at 5 drivers, far cry from a dozen.

|
You're either belligerent or uncivil. If you don't care, why are you discussing things on a forum message board? If you stand behind your FACTS, you should be able to stand a little qustioning about your FACTS. As Sniper83 shows in his post above, it appears there were 8 drivers in 10 entries (4-410's and 6-360's) at Knoxville on the date you pointed out. Maybe you can say I was blind, as I was off by one> 11 verses 10.
I'm not arguing with you. I see your point. But when you mentioned Knoxville getting a dozen cars from the Dakotas etc.. I thought you a little high with your number. Now before you decide to start name calling, let me throw a few things out there. I've been going to sprint car races since 1973. I was a regular weekly fan at Husets Speedway since 1984. I think I've been to badlands 5 times this year, the opener and 2 Saturdays, 2 Sundays. I have never been to Knoxville, so I have no way to compare anything between the two tracks.
To be honest, I don't feel badlands has lived up to the hype. That's just my opinion. It seems to me, that going forward Knoxville and badlands need to work on growing more local cars. Rather than each trying to steal a piece of the other's pie, why not both try to bake bigger pies? Do you agree? It sure would be cool if all the tracks and sanctioning bodies worked together, but they are competing against each other just like racers do. The best we can hope for is that they figure out how to tolerate each other and occasionaly do things that help them and the sport in general.

I'm didn't major in geogpraphy in college, but it seems to me that Rapid City, SD is in SD. The fella said in ND or SD, not a specific part of ND or SD. So I'd say he was right. Sure wish I was 1000 miles closer to Knoxville or Badlands. You guys are lucky.

You're absolutely right about that. The reason I pointed that out, is those 2 guys race out in western SD. They were at Knoxville because their race season hadn't started yet. Being that far away from Knoxville there was no way that they would ever be Knoxville regulars. So *technically* they weren't being *stolen* from Knoxville. As it turns out, those two didn't compete at badlands either.
To be fair, Jamie up above never said they would be regulars or were stolen, only that they were from SD and that they did race at Knoxville on the date he mentioned.

Look no further than the results page for April 23 of this year for Knoxville. There are 11 entries in the 410 and 360 ranks from ND or SD. That does not count a couple other ND/SD drivers you can find in the Knoxille results from 2015. It also does not count TMac, AMac, CMac, Jeffrey, or any other IA, NE, or MN driver who ran BMS this year instead of Knoxville.
|
I think Murphy's point was you stated, The days of Knoxville getting a dozen cars from the Dakotas are over. Justin Henderson, Clint Garner, Dusty Zomer, and Mark Dobmier. Lets throw in Matt Juhl as he's raced at Knoxville a few times but not on a regular basis unlike the previous 5. I wouldn't count James Sires nor Adam Speckman either...same reason. Lee used to racea at Knoxville on a regular basis, so for fun lets count him. That's 7. Five for sure and 2 maybes. Point being it wasn't a dozen drivers / cars being pulled from Knoxville. I'm not trying to argue either, Yes, there are drivers from ND and SD, but not all of them race/ raced at Knoxville regularly. Have all of them been there at some point? yes, but so have some drivers on the eastern porches.

how many drivers are pissed off that they have (2) saturday night tracks to choose from within 300 miles?
we DO have too many saturday night tracks within 2 hours of each other here on Posse Soil and I can't name a single driver bitching about that either...

The hilarious part is given Badlands started so late, they only actually competed with Knoxville for about 13 weeks.
Hopefully, as the "sins" of the past get farther into the distance, common sense will prevail and everyone can move on.

if midwest fans cannot tolerate 13 nights of choices for a saturday night, midwest racing is essentially dead as we know it here on Posse Soil...
the constant axe grinding between fans of tracks that are about 5 hours away from each other is perhaps the dumbest sh!t I have seen on this website in years...
here in PA...we get in the car and drive to a track and watch the races!

Well we're not in PA......but I'd bet most of us know the circumstances out there and WHY it works......as for you, you're not in the midwest.......and YOU sure as shit don't have a clue as to the real problem we face.....whether it be Knoxville or Badlands!

Laugh all you want. If you had a clue as to what was going on back here you might understand. The root of the problem is not the two tracks. Also, be carefull with your laughter.....similar circumstances just might come back to bite you in the ass.

Oh oh, now you got the Knoxville girl's club all in a tizzy, way to go. Bottom line is, it's the same butt hurt girl's that come on here and bitch every time BMS is mentioned, they say the same thing over and over and over, meanwhile for the people who actually go to the race's on a regular basis, and not just sit behind a computer and troll, it's been great car counts and great racing, what more do you want!

I'm hesitant to step into this, another CF of a thread about BMS & Knoxville...
It seems evident by his own actions that Chuck himself is making Knoxville the issue; posting car counts of BMS vs Knoxville's, starting a second mid-season point fund, upping the points and pay during 360 Nationals, etc.
The response from the BMS supporters is, "he's just competing and competitions good", or, "he's just protecting his interests", or, (my personal favorite) "the tracks are 300 miles apart and don't matter/compete for cars". Some may be valid points.
Interesting, however, when someone makes a similar point or argument in support of protecting the interests of Knoxville, the typical responses are "butt hurt", "girls club", "get over it", and (again my favorite) "the tracks are 300 miles apart.
Judging by his actions, I don't think Chuck believes that doesn't matter.

Well look at you! You've found a far off friend that you can sling your bullshit to. Why is it you never have anything concrete to add or come up with any ideas that may or may not be recieved by others? Afraid someone may disagree with you? You mention great car counts......Knoxville did have smaller 410 car counts this year. That's a fact. Still, with the competitors that were there the racing was pretty damn good. Badlands started off with some high car counts, but the car counts did fall off after the season got rolling. I hope that is not a sign of things to come. The bottom line for all involved is the hope that 2017 brings more stability to the area and to all three sprint car tracks involved. Kudos to Badlands for reducing the Gold Cup to two nights and to changing the dates. And as far as race attendance this year....my health has prohibited me from going in person.....but PPV and even split creen double PPV action nearly every weekend kept me aware of what was going on. I probably witnessed more racing than you did. So I don't just sit behind the computer, I pay attention.

I love it. I return 3 days later to find a bunch of genius's bent out of shape trying to tear apart my posts. Pure comedy.
Let's be clear. My original point was that with BMS upping it's game again and nearby Jackson running Friday's there is really not reason for any ND/SD teams to run Knoxville anymore except for rainouts and Nationals. I stated a simple opinion that the days of Knoxille getting a dozen cars from the Dakota's are probably over. Not a controversial statement. Was not critical of BMS, was in fact positive of the changes. And certainly wasn't unfair to Knoxville.
Then of course a keyboard commando gets offended because apparently my post was too critical of Knoxville, and challenges me to name a dozen cars Knoxville gets from Dakotas. I very simply listed the 11 entries tied to ND/SD from one night of racing last year and again people lose their minds. Holy shit people really? Honestly if anything I thought maybe there would be one moron pointing out that 11 is not a dozen. I didn't think anyone would be ignorant enough to attack me or the accuracy of the post. And yes, there were 11...
Henderson x 2, Zomer x 2, Kaeding (Lunstra), Dobmeier, Juhl, Garner, Grosz, Sires, and Speckman.
Regarding someone else's comments about me caring. I do care. I care about sprint car racing. A LOT. That's why I support it. That's why I owned a team for 6 years. It's why I try to get to every event I can. It's why I come here on occasion. To read stories and news. Sometimes post my opinions or comments on topics.
What I don't care about are the ignorant trolls or people always wanting to start shit. But it is entertaining. I laugh mostly. Honestly this last chain had me laughing out loud. It's like watching a people of Walmart clip. Or a news interview of the shirtless redneck with a mullet and no teeth, smoking a cigarette wondering how his trailer ended up in the tree during the tornado. You just can't look away.

I wasn't trying to tear apart your post and really wasn't offended by your comments. Simply clarifying someone else's posts about what is and isn't considered a "knoxville regular", which still in my opinion a dozen is a stretch. I guess you can say that there were a dozen entries with drivers running multiple classes. I did a random search of SD and ND drivers through the past years and didn't come across too many nights where there were a dozen cars from ND and SD
I've been going to Knoxville on a regular basis for sometime now and anyone can go and verify this info but the regulars from Knoxville were basically the same for the past couple of years including the drivers who ran at BMS:
Zomer, Dobmier, Kaeding, Garner, Henderson, Dylan Peterson a few races, . Yes Andiee, Sires, and Speckman have raced there but not on a regular basis. Shoot I even struggled to get a dozen if you count all the cars entered in the 360 and 410 nats.
Yes, most cars probably won't travel down to Knoxville much anymore, but the #s are closer to 6, not 12.
I'm not trying to argue, or call someone out and or try to get involved in some pissing match. It seems like if we oppose someone's views were have to call each other names, people get offended, posts gets misinterpreted and then threads get hijacked and this forum becomes a bash fest instead of useful info and topics.
It's always nice to see the WOO visit a different track.

Again, love it.
1) You're still trying to tear my post apart, as you say you're not trying to tear my post apart. In fact your ENTIRE post, which you start by saying "I wasn't trying to tear apart your post"... is in fact trying to tear apart my post. You should read your last paragraph to yourself. Because your entire post was doing exactly what you mock in your last paragraph.
2) My post never said a dozen regulars. I don't know where "Knoxville Regulars" came into it. If it had been about Knoxville Regulars then I could have added 3 McCarls and 1 Jeffrey to my list or even 2015 regular Forler or former part timer Petersen; which would again bring me back close to a dozen.
3) My post was meant to imply that Knoxille attracted about a dozen cars over the course of a season from SD/ND. Many every week, some only a handful of nights. Perhaps I should have clarified my original post to prevent the forum opinion moderators from going bat shit crazy.
Now feel free to blow me up all you want. I won't read this thread again.

1) Actually, no he wasn't. He didn't call anyone names, he didnt bash anyone, he wasn't angry or snarky. He was just questioning and clarifying, which should be fine on a message board. Why can't people disagree, correct each other, or ask for a clarification without it becoming a pissing match. And his last paragraph wasn't mocking either...it was lamenting the same things I am....things which he didn't actually do.
