Scott was a legend. Lot of fans some cheered some didnt but they all paid admission to see him

Your're not alone, I found the news almost to shocking to be true.. Sad day for American short track racing. RIP Bloomer.

Sad news indeed, another Dirt Track legend gone. Rest in Peace Scott.

I was going to message you the same thing but kept looking up information and unfortunately found nothing to disprove it. 

I definetly respect anyone who straps into a racecar, of any type. But there a few who I have the ultimate respect for, and he is one of them. When he spoke you listened and you learned. What a loss. RIP sir.

RIP Scott! never a fan of his but he was arguably the greatest ever DLM driver!

Was fortunate enough to see him from his beginnings at Corona Raceway in Southern CA early '80s and though he was only 16 or 17 he was fun to watch.  Thought he might turn out to be a good racer and wasn't surprised when he became one of the best ever.  Didn't always agree with his later lifestyle but respected his talents thoroughly.  Died with his boots on and doing what he wanted.  Can't ask for more than that. RIP Scott.

They were talking about the investigation and showed a photo of the crash on an avaition channel I follow.  Ironically this happened two days after I unloaded about dealing with illness.  Apparently he needed back surgery again, had prostrate cancer and was close to filing bankruptcy.  He flew his plane into the side of his barn likely on purpose.  Man, that makes my meltdown over an illness look pretty tame in comparison.  When you love racing and are actively involved for years being on the outside looking in can be a terrible burden to live with.  That is something I can relate to.

That was the thought by some not long after it happended!

Didn't know how to, or if, it should be brought up that it might be his own doing .  When I found out he had crashed into one of his barns I immediately thought of the old movie "Second Hand Lions" starring Robert Duvall and Michael Caine as a couple of old guys who had unbelievably adventurous lives that ended with trying to fly through a barn with an old bi-plane. Moral of the story was sort of a live your life your way and when the time's up going out your own way isn't such a bad thing.  Remind anyone of somebody?

No doubt about it he did things his way on his own terms! 

Not a popular take, but can't say I didn't think the same thing. Either way Bloomquist did things his way RIP Scott you ARE a legend!

I got that from aviation sites I follow based on the flight path and impact site.  I'm rather direct when it comes to these things, probably because when I worked on the flight deck when a pilot died if he didn't damage the water brakes we went right back to launching plane.  When an accident happened we wanted to know all the details so that it wouldn't happen again the next day.   I am still an aviation fan, especially the Vietnam era Navy and Marine aircraft we worked with.  I interviewed him, took his photo and for a few years got a smile and a nod when we crossed paths.  I always liked him, he always had time for an interview or question and was a Dude.

I was thinking along those lines also.  Being a former skydiver pilots like to do unusual "BUZZ JOBS' so i figured maybe the barn doors were open on both ends.  Nota buzz job but "a fly through'...sad state of affairs all around!

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..
