Jason Sowald was mentioned in another posters thread. Didn’t see the 39 in the results from Port or Lincoln. Anyone know what’s up with that team. With the Heffner car being parked, would hate to see the 39 parked as well. Two of the better teams in Posse land. Kinda sad that Hodnett drove both cars.

The 39 picks and chooses races as I see Sowold is still doing some racing in Washington state as well. He ran Pa last week.  Montieth, per his tweet, had a planned vacation with his family.

Monteith had a vacation planned and took the weekend off.

I am puzzled by their driver picks over the past 12 months.

The Trone car keeps getting beat by Brandon Rahmer, Freddie Rahmer, Brock Zearfoss, Matt Cambell, Anthony Macri, Jeff Halligan, and Logan Wagner.          Perhaps the 39 would have better luck if they found a young driver a little closer to home.        Between the 305, 358, and super sportsmen divisions, there is an entire farm system of local drivers.

I appreciate that Trone puts a car on the track but I'll keep rooting for the young exciting drivers I have heard of.

I'd call Troy Wagaman Jr.  Assuming the 39 has better stuff than he does already.

i feel like the air has come out of this season.  lots of good teams are struggling...72, 39, 24, and 21 among probably others.  51 is hit or miss. even the dream team hasn't been themselves.  the 48 is taking over and is the most polarizing driver in central pa.  he had plenty of room to pass the 51 clean on saturday and still managed to hit him.  sometimes it's good to have a villain but you have to have other guys you think can beat them on a regular basis...and are easy to root for.  i'm not sure the 5 and 39m totally fit the description.  marks was out of the area for a while and macri is a young guy some of us are still feeling out.

larson has played a role in this as well.  you can't walk 10 feet at a race track without hearing his name come up in conversation.  every post about a race on social media has a comment "is larson going to be there?"  it's almost like people are only interested in what he's doing.  i can understand the interest...but i'm also disappointed in the apparent lack of enthusiasm in the possibility of beating him.  maybe people know the posse has no chance.  hell...the outlaws don't have a chance right now so i guess it's understandable.

Don't feel too bad. Remember Lance, Macri, and DD bested the 57 during Speedweek and DD did it twice. So the posse didn't do too bad. Not sure there's another group of locals that can claim 4 wins against the GOAT.

I think the 5, 39 and 48 are all pretty fast right now. Marks is really getting on a roll and no one runs the cushion as good as him. A lot of people are getting tired of double douche driving over the competition.

Imagine Pa racing without the 48. Not good.

I think we would all survive if the Legend in his own mind didn't race in PA. I survived after Kauffman and Fast Freddie retired, real legends BTW.

Since this is a thread about Jon and his team I don't care who he picks, he and his family have had a car on the track longer than some of us have been alive and that car is competitive when the chemistry is right.

Rahmer had a chance to not attempt to drive through Dietrich at the Drydene race last week either yet he did and ruined both of their nights. I don't think Rahmer would expect to be given much room by DD after that no matter if he thought he owed DD after the Outlaw race or not.

What would be the difference, it's not like he did anything when the Outlaws were there?

Its not just the lower classes, there are drivers with 410 experience that would do well in a decent ride like that (JJ Grasso, Aaron Ott, or now it seems Ryan Smith may be available as well). Solwold is a good driver, but we have several good drivers here in PA that don't have to do a several thousand mile round trip to race regular shows here in PA. But I'm not paying the bills so I can't say too much about it.

Put a California driver in the car and you will take the money plus......they have car control. Cowboy still exist. Plus they seem to know different sizes better, just saying.

Where's my beer or scotch on the rocks? God-damn it! 40
plus years of dirt track racing in these old veins might
get me condemned by the EPA.

I couldn't agree more. Danny is a hell of a driver but it seems like negativity and drama follows him everywhere he goes. Some people eat that shit up but I can easily do without it.

Solwold is in the 39 car because Trone wanted to take the car to Knoxville to run that show in relation to Greg getting in the Hall of Fame and their celebration. Once he let go of Cale, he wanted a driver with experience out there to try and ensure the car got in the show and he wouldn't travel out there to celebrate Greg and be sitting in the pits all night. He's not a longterm solution or plan for the car, which explains why he's picking and choosing around here. The plan was always based around the trip to Knoxville and not needing to make a firm decision on 2021 in the middle of a rough season.

The 72 car....I have some pretty good ideas on why that car shut down and I don't believe it has anything to do with driver performance. Sure, them running better would've made staying afloat more justifiable, but I believe it has more to do with the financial side of things and the affect of COVID-19......and I can speak to this fairly certainly.

Thanks for your insight, you seem to one of the few on this site that seem to present more than just rumors. Good luck to Troney in Knoxville and good luck to Ryan, he is a good driver.

Thank you SpcJay.

Good luck to the Trone 39 and Solwold at Knoxville !!

Edit:   I don't see Solwold listed on the Knoxville entry list.        There are two #39 cars but they are Sammy and Macri.
