Haven't seen this happen yet. Selinsgrove was not allowed to race without fans under yellow. Our good Governor may however have had some of the wind taken from his sails with some of the scandles coming out recently.

Did they seek permission to run or are they just ignoring the governor like Roaring Knob?  just wondering.

The Selinsgrove situation has a lot to do with the Fire Company's involvement.  I have a feeling that Heffner and Co. would tell the state to blow it out their a$$ and run anyway, but the potential damage of the license issues for the FIre Company partnership have tied their hands when it comes to permission.

Port Royal likely has the same issues because of the agricultural grant money they receive as others have mentioned.

That is the deal. It appears as though the Governor is using state grants to strong arm the fairs into cancelling. This week has seen Centre County Grange Fair in August and the Bedford County Fair in October cancelling.

I get it now. You are the one that make the rules AND enforce them on this website.  I especially like this rule that you abide by. If someone breaks the rules revjmk is allowed to do so also. I totally get it now and I stand corrected. 

Strawser likes to ruffle feathers.  Port has turned the place into a premier facility . What he refuses to understand is that the state gives counties money. Fairs are being cancelled because these counties are getting cut off. 

What I wonder about is port royal and the Tuscarora race weekend . If he pulls funding for the fair ? I wonder what position it puts the fair board in.

Well to get back to the original topic. 

I commend Lincoln for racing.  But I think they are going about all the wrong way.  First off , in my opinion,  there are going to be a lot of unhappy people Monday afternoon.    It does not make any sense to have people just show up to buy tickets when the number allowed in is unknown.    It wouldn't surprise me if someone went to Lincoln right now to save the first 100 spots to get in. We all know people might come Sunday night or definitely Monday morning to get in line.  One person will save spots for a lot of people and someone who has been waiting hours will watch someone just pull in and walk right to the front.  It could get very interesting for general admission. 

And before all you reserved seat holders chime and say that's why I have a seat.  Yes you will be let in at 3 PM.  But this is not a guarantee that you will get your reserved seat.  Social distance must be observed.   So how is this problem going to be handled ?      Let's say I have four reserved seats and you have the four next to me, who moves and gives up their seats?  I would be pretty upset to sit in seats 3 or 4 or more rows lower than my paid for seats.   Who gets first choice on reserved seats? Will it be by seniority or first come first serve?   It will get very interesting indeed on Monday! 

Again I commend Lincoln for racing.  Because the Governor and other officials don't know what they are doing.   Besides killing are nursing home residents.   That's for another discussion. 

I just hope Lincoln isn't doing this for a cash grab and don't realize the bad PR hit and negative fan comments  possibly coming.

I agree with your assesment revjimk.  When politicians who get tested daily and have their handlers do everything for them are telling me "everything is fine, go out and have a good time" I will wait until they're out shaking hands and kissing babies and not getting tested every day.  Meanwhile I'm hanging back and watching the headlines regarding what's happening in states that have reopened.  One headline said that a stylist at a Missouri Great Clips was asymptomatic and went to work.  She serviced 84 customers and was around seven co-workers before she started getting symptoms.  Seeing as I fall into that gray haired group of racing fans and am a year and a handful of months from turning 70 I'll wait and see what happens.  I've got PPV and am watching 10x the races I could ever hope to attend in person and actually like it better because I don't have to drive alone through deer country at 2am.  Those deer and fancy bright headlights are difficult to handle when the eyes start dimming and I don't have any travel partners so I'll wait and see what happens.  If things look alright by mid July I'll start penciling a couple nearby events.  World of Outlaws Late Models finale of the USA Nationals and the Jerry Richert Memorial in September are the two I'd like to attend in person.  Crossing my fingers but I'm not desparate to attend live racing after doing it for sixty years.  I can skip a few without going into convulsions like it appears some of these folks are.  ;)
