Great to see Sammy running up front the last two nights would love to see him get a win for Mark and the team.I was afraid the hard crash at Knoxville might be the end for him like the hard crash and AT Eldora and another in Florida was the end for Steve.

Positivity!! This is such a refreshing thing to see on a board that's as negative as Hosehead's.
Enjoy a Sensenig's sammich for me, will ya? Actually, you'll probably complain about that too.

You don't have a clue how he got the nickname.....and I think you exaggerate more than a wee bit, like most Sammy haters!

Yea, Sammy likes to dish it out, but he can take it too. I'll never forget a few years ago at Nationals prelim nite, Wayne Johnson squeezed him into the wall on Turn 3, Sammy was going any which way but loose over the cushion, 3 or 4 corrections in a second or so, & he eventually passed Wayne... impressive
I don't need to root for "good guys in white hats"....

Recently saw him win at Orange County Fairgrounds Speedway against Allstars in Middletown, NY
Fast time, outclassed everyone, ran away & hid. Glad to see the ole bastidge win, but boring race....

I've always liked watching Sammy run because he is always exciting. That said, I have to disagree that "he can take it too". As much as I like to watch him run he doesn't deal well with someone else dishing out to him what he dishes out to them. Chili Bowl a couple years ago with Kyle is a good example. You could play that race back 100 times and not find what Kyle did wrong.
Still cool to see an old guy kick everyone's ass every once in a while though!

I walked through the pits every night in Knoxville for the Nationals and a lot of drivers/teams are in a hurry to get out of there and wouldn't you know it , Sammy, the guy with the "worst attitude of any driver ever!" is one of the last drivers to leave every night and is signing autographs , talking with fans and taking pictures. He was even smiling. But man the way some of you guys make him out to be on here is unreal. I'd like to buy a ticket to watch you work for a week or 2, mind you Sammy is closing in on 50 years in the business, and see how hardworking, maticulus, innovative and passionate you are about your craft.

Actualy, he got the nickname because of the way he slammed the corners at Eldora years ago. It's hard to take a guy seriously that doesn't seem to know anything about the history of sprint car racing. Are you new to the sport? After you've followed the sport for a couple of years, you might have a different perspective.

Sammy brought out the caution and dropped out halfway through.
I know a guy who relishes saying, "I tell it like it is" (emphasis on the macho tone). As I told the guy, "Just because you 'tell it like it is' doesn't mean you don't sound like goddamn prick pretty much every time you speak." I feel that's relevant here.
Lighten up, Francis.

I'm not talking about post race comments or antics in the pits, but how he drives his racecar on the track

Maybe you weren't informed, so I'll be the one to let you know. Both of the aforementioned drivers were present st Knoxville while all of your favorite drivers stayed at home. Oh and that Hodnett guy did a pretty spectacular job representing your home tracks. Just keep "telling it how it is".

Sammy can dish it out, but Sammy can’t take it, that’s just how it is. I don’t hate the guy but I damn sure don’t love him. It’s hard to get on the Sammy wagon when you see him drive aggressive to get where he needs to go, but bitches, moans and groans when other drivers do it to him. That’s not made up shit from someone that’s not a Sammy fan, it’s real life shit. But if you’re a Sammy fan, you turn a blind eye to it and chalk it up as just racing and the drivers and fans that bitch about Sammy are just jealous. He has brought a lot to the sport over the years, some good and some bad.
