And also the cars are a lot different now than they used to be.  When tracks are too heavy it usually means follow the leader, even if its around the top groove.  Everyone is so hooked up that sometimes you have to slow the track down a little bit so that guys tha can drive can actually makes passes and see good racing.

I may be in the minority but I could care less about the speed... Eldora for me is all about crazy close slide jobs while banging the fence. If the "cushion" is so dusty that everbody in the top 20 qualified from the middle down... I'm going home unhappy.

Give me slick to a curb anyday regardless of how much the track slows down and I'm all in!!!

I have never been there for a sprint car race, but the late model races have been better (racier) since Tony took over the place.

AHA! Does that explain everything?

Guys have been charging from the back with the multiple grooves over the last several years in both Sprint and Late Model shows alike at Eldora.  I don't understand all the hate towards Tony and the race track.  The track still produces great racing.  I saw snoozers there when Earl had the place as well.  It's not always going to be perfect.

No "hate"... just discussing change in banking & speeds

But i guess "hate" has a new meaning nowadays: any questioning or criticism = "hate"

I'd gladly go back, but I'd be in more of a hurry if it was still as fast as former reputation

I don't know if you read some of the posts or not, but there were people saying that Tony had "ruined" the place.  That to me is slamming and hating on a good race track.

I'd just like to see more than a 9" layer of powdered dust to lean on up against the wall. Then I might be able to live with the castration of the banking.

Lower banking. Perhaps a request from the insurance company?

Feels like the same arguement NASCAR fans make about BRISTOL.

They all want the one-groove, no passing unless you hit someone track back while the current configuration allows 3 wide racing (or did until they ground it and added the 3M adhesive to the bottom groove to try to get it back to one-lane.

Seems like Sprint Car fans want Eldora to go back to One-groove (on the fence), no passing unless you slide or crash someone like it was in the 1980's.

Funny that the racing itself is better at both venues but no one seems to notice because they are more concerned abou the change than the results of the change.

Personally, haven't been to Eldora since 1989, but if they have made it so guys have multiple grooves to race on, I may go back.

I read it all. I guess "ruined" is too strong, but I don't think it means anybody "hates" Tony or the track.

I think the 3 pt. shot has really hurt basketball, but its not ruined & I don't hate anyone about it....

LIke I said before, people use thet term "haters" all the time now, for any kind of jealousy or whatever. To me it means serious business
