No one is saying that Larsonfan, but Willie is correct in that the more you coddle and enable an addict, the less likely they are to confront their demons and actually do something about them.
Support them? Fine. Baby them every time they revert? NO!!

All due respect EPSG (love Eagle Raceway, btw!), I never said they should be coddled and enabled. I agree with you there, and my family has learned that lesson the hard way. But that said, I will never turn my back on her. I believe that God will judge us all for what we did and didn't do for others someday.

It might be people turning their back on them that saves their life.

Clearly you don't understand the biological process of addiction. There isn't a choice about any of their decisions once they're fully addicted. I am just thankful that recovery experts have a MUCH better understanding of the addictive process. This isn't some decision they're making when they decide to use again. It's literally an all consuming force that will see to it they use again. The only way to insure it doesn't happen again and again is through effective treatment which unfortunately this country doesn't make it easy to obtain. Thats a fact. Law enforcement wants money rolling into anti drug operations so losing some of that money towards treatment programs runs contrary to their real goal.
Now more importantly back to the whole fucking point of this long multipage thread is the fact that he claims to have had a real car problem and unless you were sparking the lighter on the pipe lay off the accusations that he relapsed. I mean for fucks sake were talking about a real human being here not some character on a damn tv show. Show some true compassion you heartless pricks. He said his car had trouble and thats that. End of fucking story.
Cheers!

Bullshit. I have another cousin from the other side of my family who is a psychologist and addiction treatment expert. I also know two people who have beaten it and turned their life around. Both of them would not make the effort to get treatment until everything fell apart for them, including their marriages and other family support. Luckily, both of them got their families back once they were on the road to recovery. My other cousins who died never lost anything. They always had someone there bailing them out or making sure they only suffered so much.
I'm not sure if you're addressing your second paragraph to me or to everyone, but I don't recall ever saying that I thought TW had relapsed. I do think there's more to this story than what's being reported though. I don't know too many people who would lose a job over their car breaking down. I sincerely hope he hasn't relapsed, and I hope I don't wake up one day to the news that he met the same fate as two of my cousins.

How many apologists think Walker was released by the team because the first strike against him was arrivving late last week?
nobody claims to have piss tested anyone involved...but chronic disrespect for the efforts of others can piss important people off who have resumes on their desk and phone calls coming in.

Doesn't everyone have a cell phone these days, including TW and crew members for the 3-C team? So Peter Murphy helped him once get restarted. One would think the second time his Caddy failed, he would have phoned someone. Doesn't he have friends that would have picked him up and driven him to the track? What about a Taxi cab or Uber? If I had a job and for him, isn't racing his job, and and company owner and other employees (the crew) depended on me being there on time, I would have found a way to MAKE IT HAPPEN! Why not TW?

Just to be fair, there are still MANY places throughout the country where cell phones don't get service. The fact is, none of us were there so none of us know what happened. There could be a thousand different scenarios that all make sense that don't have a damn thing to do with drugs. But unfortunately, Tyler has given himself this reputation and its completely understandable that people will ultimately jump to the "here we go again" conclusions regardless of what they know or don't know based on their knowledge of his past behavior. I too think it's awful suspicious that someone would get fired for having a car break down but then again, with Tyler's reputation, it could very well be that the 3C team had him under a "zero tolerance" protocol and held him to it. The fact is, we just don't know.

This is turning into another dumbfuck meatbag conversation. Come on guys that's all he wants is for us to argue with him. Ignore his keyboard track champion mouth and he might go away. But I doubt it.
